Name: Thanatos Nickname: Than Dragon Type: Western Age: 17 Gender: Male Clan: Juthlvar Clan position desired: Alpha Desired Magic: Lighting: Mastered Fire: Strong Wind: Very Strong Appearance: Thanatos is at a staggering thirty feet height with an impressive sixty feet length. His wing span is ninety feet. His eyes are a dazzling fiery red, seeming to burn with a brightness of their own. Those that look into them will see a dragon that has fought for his life and is not scared to rip their throats out without remoras, a cunning dragon that is always thinking a head and planning. His scales have a metal sheen to them. This gives him the appearance, along with this eyes, that he was forged; some metal contraption instead of a living dragon. His body is riddled with scars, several claw marks along his throat, back and tail. Holes in his wings were harpoons have ripped through them and on his right wing he even has a strange human stitching that keeps his wing membranes together to allow him to still fly. While he is not impressive to look at, he can strike an intimidating pose when he feels like it; who really wants to mess with a scared veteran such as Than? Personality: Thanatos is hard to put into one catorgy; rather he has a wide spectrum that makes up his whole personality. Planning and thinking, Than is always using his brain to analyze things around him; a simple flitch from a fellow dragon could mean many things to him. It was this simple trait that has kept him alive and he makes sure to use it well. He is hardly ever arrogant or gloating, only younger males, and sometime older ones, that wish to brag about their journeys, Than will intervene with one of his own, quickly shutting the young/old dragon up. He knows he's not much to look at, more gawked at then anything due to his strange formation, so he is only gloating to those that make it a habit to put him down to his looks alone. Killing and protecting; he will gladly kill those that get in his way or that dare wish to harm him. Those that dare try to harm his clan will be rewarded with a very slow, very painful death; one never realizes how many weak points a dragon has until you piss this dragon off. He will do anything to keep those he considered family safe, risking his life is nothing new and as such it is only a minor thing to give up to protect those he treasures. Thanatos can be a rather tough dragon to read. He acts indifferent and distant around new dragons. It can take quite sometime to gain his favor or it can take a matter of a simple word at the right time. Those that he does warm up to gain a lifetime friend, but just as hard as it was to gain that position it can be just as easy to lose. Though he can be considered an 'uptight and strange dragon' he does have a playful side to him. He enjoys flying, often pushing his body to the limits as a form of training to keep him self in top fighting condition. He also enjoys learning, often loving to lay down and listen to an older dragon speak to him of what they know or even some humans. He knows what can win a battle and knows what can lose it; for this reason he keeps both his mind and body sharp and ready for anything. History: Thanatos history is just as riddled as his personality. His mother and father were not a part of a clan, rather living a far away from other dragons. He was the only male of the clutch, having two sisters that often aggravated him due to their constant talking as he stalked. Around the age of 2, everything changed for the young Than. A group of humanoids entered the cave, wishing to kill everything that was in it. His mother, seeing her young in trouble, pushed her young through a hole that would allow them to escape; Than would be the only to escape due to his sisters being scared little things. The young Than ran in fear, hearing the roar of his mother fighting to protect her young and the small peeps his sisters made as they struggled to stay out of the way of the fight. As much as he wanted to run back to the cave later that night, he knew what would wait for him. The smell of dragon blood and death was thick in the air. Doing the only thing his small little mind could do, he turned and headed off into the big world on his own. He knew hunger around this age, snapping up small lizards and insects to quite his belly that hungered for raw meat. It was a tough living, but it would be the building blocks that would make Thanatos into the dragon he is today. At the age of three, Thanatos became an avid hunter; learning how to cover his scent with mud and learning how to wait. It was around this time that he came into contact with his first human, a small human child that thought of Than as a weird horse more then a lizard. The boy, seeing Thanatos as a magical animal, quickly talked the young dragon to go into town. It took the boy, and a very scared Than, sometime to show that Thanatos was not a man eating dragon as many of the villagers wished to believe. Than earned their respect and trust when he managed to slay a bear that often attacked the town to get an easy meal; this also gave him his first pair of claw marks along his tail, now just a hard to see scar. He spent many years here, watching as the boy quickly grew up to a man, both learning many things as his old friend also helped him learn to fly. Than still smiles fondly on those moments as he watched a full grown man use branches and leaves to demonstrate flight for the young dragon before him. But no matter how many pigs, goat, sheep or cattle Than was given, he quickly grew board with humans; seeing them as creatures of habit and longed for his own kind. He stayed though until his boy, grown a man, now an old man finally died to old age. With a sorrow filled heart, Than took to the skies and lived the next several dragon years alone enjoying the hunt of going claw to claw, fang to fang with many wild animals every were that he went. At the age of ten, he came in contact with his first dragon. An very old dragon that was often feed by a nearby village. The old dragon took Than in, thinking of him as a long lost family member due to its old feeble mind. Here Thanatos learned even more things, learning how to control his magic along with what ever the old dragon knew. But alas that was not to last as well. As the old dragon started to age, it slowly passed into an Ancient; its mind started to fail it more as it know saw the young adult Than as a rival for land. With its last energy, it bellowed a roar at the startled Than and took off after him. Thanatos tried everything to jog his old friend out of its war cry, but was to no use. The Ancient chased the young dragon for a day and a half, finally ending the case as it fell to the earth due to exhaustion and dying in the fall; tearing Thanatos wing membrane and sending the younger dragon into a spinning fall to the ground. Thanatos woke up to see humans around him mending his wing with some strange device so he could fly. Their way of thanking him for getting rid of the 'Ancient Menace' that had been his friend. It was here that Thanatos left the dead dragon, mooring for his friend but knowing that it was just another part of life. With a heavy heart, Thanatos took off in hopes of finding more dragons. It was around the age of twelve that he came to Selzar. The smells of dragon was ever were, but sadly he found him self in a rather bad part of the land. He had to constantly fight for his life. Males old and young saw him as a threat to their females and quickly took off after him when ever they saw him. Thanatos used the tricks he used while growing up to avoid fighting with much bigger and stronger males as he gladly fought the males around his age and only slightly older ones. It took time, but it soon came to a point were the other males would not mess with him, around the age of fifteen; Than is still cautious and does not allow him self to get to weak to were he can not resort on the tacts he use to use. ((Ugh, sorry for the bad history. If for some reason none of this fits just let me know and I'll change it. Accepted, if you wish, you may put in how he and Silvera met and how he became the alpha in the land. Just make sure it doesn't conflict with Silvera's history in how she attained the Alphess position. Also by accepting the Alpha position, you accept Silvera as your mate, and the two leaders of the clan on this site are required to be mates for the security of the clan. So as soon as your history is up on how he and Silvera met, I will edit and add to my history accordingly. |
