Cybera was grumpy. There was a kink in her back left leg today, and it wasn't bending like normal. And it hurt like the flames of Hades. Darn artificial nerves, gotta work so well. She had been flying southwards, looking for the fabled Caves of Suni she had heard about from some dragon a few days ago. Where are they.... I wish I had radar or something.... Ah! A glint of light caught her optical sensors and she dove towards it. She landed and winced as her weight hit her back leg. She shifted her weight forward, relieving her of the simulated, but realistic pain. Cybera's eyes widened and turned a pale purple color as she took in the view of the caves. Wow. I wonder how much magic it took to make this.... She entered the caves, awed by how the walls seemed to glow with the sheer amount of magic embedded in them and by how much the temperature had dropped upon entering. Cybera stopped and sat on her haunches, spreading her wings. How odd. This glow is strong enough to give me a bit of a recharge. However, I think that I'll keep moving.... After I stretch my legs. She stood again and worked the kink out of her back leg and continued deeper into the caves. She stopped after about fifteen dragon lengths of walking and sat again, flipping her tail from side to side so as to ensure some recharging. The Lab Techs would never believe this, even if I showed them. She shook her head. They were open minded enough to accept that my existence was one worth saving, but this they would argue, swearing that it must be a cold quartz. She sighed. Humans are an odd species.

Cobra was wandering around the lands of the free trying to get away from her clan. She saw a glint and flew down to it. What she then saw and felt surprised her. It seemed that something was recharging her. She also saw some beautiful caves. I wonder how many people have came here...I should bring the children here for flying lessons... She then saw a figure in the caves. She saw it stretch it's legs. It then walked further into the caves. I wonder who that is. Might want to be cautiouse She slowly walked into the caves noticing the drop in tempurature. It will be too cold for the children here "Hello? Who may you be?" Cobra asked in a gentle tone so as not to startle the dragon. "Are you ok? I saw you stretch your back leg like you were in pain. I might be able to help. I am Cobra, the alphess of the Kukiron clan." She said slowly walking closer to the dragon that looked like it was thinking. She looked around her at the glow of the caves. She then stood next to the dragon looking at it thruogh slited eyes. She hoped this wasn't one of the dragons her scouts were talking about. One that belonged to no clan killed other dragons.

Cybera turned so as to see the other dragoness better. I am Cybera, and it is good to see someone else in these caves. I cannot believe that I never knew about them until a few weeks ago. She smiled warmly. I thank you for your concern, but my leg is fine. Her eyes widened as the rest of Cobra's words finally registered in her mind. Did you say Kukiron? And that you're the alphess? So you must know most of the members yes? Not personally, but at least their names? Her eyes turned a startling bright blue, like the sky on a cloudless summer day. (She could confirm if the rumors I've heard are true.) She then noticed the intensity of Cobra's stare. (Does she think I would harm her or her clan? Maybe the Bone Dragon I've heard about, but not me.) Cybera shifted and subconsciously raised her internal temperature to keep her system running efficiently. Her scales gently pulsed once, signifying that her internal temperature had been raised.

Cobra closely listened to the dragoness as she told her name. She doesn't seem to be the harmful type... "I just now found out about them. I needed to get away from my clan for a bit so I thought I would explore the Lands of the Free. I like your name, it's nice. Not much is happening in my clan...Very boring right now. I know most of them, yes. I know dragons like Keita, Naltanar, Sandstorm, and Amberscale. Of course there are others but can't name them all. What's it like being a dragon that lives outside a clan? I forgett what it's like..." She looked over the dragoness again. She then looked farther into the cave. She couldn't quite make out anything farther that twenty dragon lenghts because of the intense glow. "I wonder if any dragons used to live here. Must have been a cool yet hard life..." She shuffled her wings making herself warm again. I wonder what happened to them... She walked a little further and noticed that now she felt like she was being drained of her energy. She quickly walked back to the place she was last standing. "I wouldn't walk that much further. I feel like I just went flying for eight hours."

Cybera's eyes widened at one of the names Cobra had said. (Keita... It would be her, if anyone.) Her eyes faded back to gold as Cobra's question registered in her mind. It's interesting not living in a clan. You are completely alone, no one that you'd rely on or that would rely on you. It is sometimes a blessing, sometimes a curse. Her eyes went a pale purple as she contemplated the possibility of a dragon occupying the caves. I have heard a story about a dragoness that lives in these caves. She is said to be made of ice, yet breathes and grows like a normal dragon. Frostica was her name. Her eyes went back to gold. The dragon that told me the story said she was vicious and that he had scars from an encounter with her, but I think he must've just startled her. I mean, his was the only story, so she must not show herself very often. She probably didn't know what to do when he appeared. She shook her head. However, there is no proof unless she graces us with her presence. She gazed down the tunnel as Cobra walked down it and returned. Cobra's next words surprised Cybera. Odd. Let me try. She padded down the tunnel and felt as if her battery had run dry. She quickly padded back to where she had been standing and used her energy magic to give herself a temporary recharge. Subzero temperatures. Makes people tired and drains the batteries in electronic devices. She turned to Cobra, breathing heavily. Don't ask how I know that. Her breathing returned to normal.

(OOC: I know, robots don't need to breathe, but it makes her seem more realistic and the motion helps power her)

Frostica blinked her eyes sleepily. She had just finished her nap deep inside the caves, and she was hungry. She got up and looked at the three entrances before her, and tried to remember which one led outside.
"Darn you, short-term memory!" she thought. "All these years I've lived in here, yet I still can't remember which tunnels are which..." She hesitated, but then chose the tunnel on the right side, and walked through it, starting to remember which way to go. Frostica met another fork and went left, then left again, and then took the center out of three tunnels. She was nearing the large cave that was the closest to the outside. She shuddered as it got warmer. "I wonder if this is a good day to go outside..." she wondered, but still walked on.
As she saw the inner entrance to the cave, she sensed that something was in the cave. Frostica warily paused at the entrance and peered in. There were two dragonesses in there! Startled, she pulled her head back and thought about what she should do. According to her memory, the cave was the only way to get outside that she knew about. "I wonder if the dragons are friendly," she wondered. "After all, I've only seen one in my whole life." Gathering her courage, she slowly stepped into the cave and walked toward the two dragonesses, trying to stay calm.
Taking a deep breath, she started to speak. "Hello," she said. "Are you two from the... clans?" she asked, her voice slightly shaking. "I don't know much about them, but apparently there's three of them, and... wait, why are your scales square?" Frostica asked, distracted by the golden scales of one of the dragonesses. "And how do your eyes change color like that?"
Realizing that both of the dragonesses were older than her, she shrunk back, feeling a little embarrassed. "Sorry to be asking these questions, I'm just curious because I've only met one other dragon in my whole life..." she said in a small voice.
"Have either of you met him? His name was Diosyre." she said, shuddering at the memories that came flooding back to her. A dragon, full of rage, trying to melt her with his terrible fire... Shaking herself out of her trance, she said, "My name is Frostica. What's yours?"

She watched Cybera's eyes widen as she said Keita's name. "Do you know Keita? If you wish I could send her a message. How do you make your eyes change color? I think it's neat. I remember when I didn't live in a clan. I barely had any good times. You sound like you have fun here and there." She listened as Cybera told what she knew of Frostica. She wondered how a dragon could bear living in these conditions. Although here name is Frostica. She then heard footsteps. She turned and saw another dragon walking towards them. "I am the leader of the Kukiron clan. My name is Cobra. Nice to meet you Frostica. Your questions don't bother me a bit. I get used to it. I'm the alphess and the elders ask a lot of questions. I can expect that from a dragon living down here. No offense." She looked the smaller dragon up and down. " No I'm afraid I don't know Diosyre. Although I heard from Cybera that he said that you were vicious. I don't believe it though . If he came to my clan giving me that info I would kick him out. How is it living in this place? It's very cold." She then noticed that Frostica was almost pure ice. No wonder...I hate my eyes...

(OOC:Dragongirl, Cybera's scales aren't square, more of a rounded kite shape.)

Cybera smiled. The answer to how my eyes change color is for me to know and you to find out. It is alright to ask questions, it's better than never knowing. She shifted so as to see both dragonesses at once, noticing that Frostica was indeed, made of ice. The dragon that told me about you, Frostica, he did say that his name was Diosyre. It seems that he was lying when he told me that you were a vicious killer, but the being made of ice aspect seems to hold true. I must say, it is truly remarkable, meeting a dragon made of ice. (The lab techs would never believe this either.) She began flipping her tail from side to side, observing and taking in every detail of Frostica. I'm Cybera by the way. I'm not in any of the clans, though I know some who are, such as Cobra. Oh, if you perchance run into a dragon named Elumina, don't worry if her eyes go silver. She is the one that told me of these caves. She looked at Cobra. The answer to your previous question, about sending a message, is no. I've heard her name before, but I'd have to see this Keita before I could be sure that I know her. (And confirm my hopes...)

(OOC:There. My earlier screwup is fixed.)

“I get along fine since I’m resistant to very low temperatures.” Frostica answered Cobra. Then she turned to Cybera. “What did Diosyre say about me? That I’m a vicious killer? He was the one who was vicious!” she exclaimed. “He used to be nice, but…”
She shuddered, then continued. “He was the one who took care of me ever since I hatched. But three years ago, he started acting strangely. Diosyre was disappearing for longer and longer amounts of time to ‘gather food’, and I was sure that he didn’t want to take care of me anymore. I kept on asking him why he was doing that, but he refused to answer until that fateful day…
“He finally got fed up with my pestering and said that he wasn’t comfortable around me, since that I was made of ice and just because of that, he thought that I would behave differently. I was so shocked and saddened that I turned and ran deeper into the caves. Diosyre called my name a few times, but his voice eventually just faded away, and I realized that I was lost. I spent many days trying to find my way back, and when I finally did, I was so relieved that I went straight to the cave where we lived, sure that Diosyre would forgive me, because I had already forgiven him.
“But he was the exact opposite. He was steaming mad, and he was so angry and fed up with me that he tried to kill me with his intense fire magic once and for all. But I was too quick, and when I turned to run outside and flee from him, my tail swung around and scraped against his side. He was roaring at me and I was really scared and I didn’t know what to do…” Frostica broke off, her eyes beginning to water. “Diosyre flew away. He vowed to never come back. And it was all my fault…” Her voice faded away as a salty tear slid down her cheek and froze there.

"I'm sorry about that. He deserved that scratch you gave him. I can't believe someone could get bored with a dragon that young. And I don't think it's right that he got mad that you ran off.... Thank god I havn't seen him... And Cybera I could bring her over here. I think she would love an adventure such as this. I think she's the brightest dragon in my clan." She looked at both the dragons and saw the tear run down Frosticas eye. She almost wiped it off with her wing until she saw it freeze there. She wondered how lomg it would take for the tear to come off. "How's the hunting going?" She said trying to take away the gloomy feeling. "Now that it's spring things are going a little better than before. How often do you hunt Frostica?"

Cybera smiled. Some how I doubt it was your fault that he left. And Cobra's right, he deserved that scratch. He sounds even more arrogant and selfish than I thought when I analyzed his voice. She shook her head. And Cobra, you don't need to ask her to come. Let fate take it's course. (As it did 11 years ago...) Cybera was going to brush Frostica's tear away, but stopped when the tear froze. (If saltwater freezes by just merely touching her skin, no wonder she can survive the sub zero temperatures further down the tunnel. At the same time, it makes so if she goes outside, the large difference in temperature makes it so she absorbs the thermal energy much faster. She's in constant danger of melting at this time of year.) She lowered her internal temperature so it wouldn't add any thermal energy to the air, and possibly melt Frostica. Her scales pulsed again, barely noticeable.

“I don’t actually hunt any animals, since that I feel that they have their own lives to live, and their lives shouldn’t be cut off prematurely by another creature. I only eat grass in the winter, when it’s cold enough for me to go outside, and the rest of the seasons I just stay deep in the caves and eat ice.” Frostica answered Cobra. She wrinkled her snout. “It feels strange to be eating the same material I’m made of, really. Like I’m a cannibal or something.”
Turning toward the opening to the cave, she stared outside, feeling relieved that it was a bit colder today, so she could at least come this far near the entrance to the caves. “I guess I don’t live on much nutrients at all, since I only eat ice and grass, and frozen grass at that.”
Turning toward the two other dragons again, she asked, “Do you eat a lot of meat? What other animals are out there, other than rabbits, birds, and insects? I only know a few kinds of living things, since that Diosyre told me about some of them, but not much. I’ve always wanted to see an evergreen tree, or a deer, or a forest...” she said. Her eyes widening, Frostica exclaimed, “And Diosyre told stories about these strange things called humans that have no fur, no scales, and kill dragons!”
“Is that true? Do they really look like that? He said that he razed a whole village of them, although I doubt it. I think villages are groups of their nests. Have you seen any humans?” she asked.

"Thats very interesting. Your the first dragon I've met that doesn't eat meat. I would try to be a vegitarian but I don't know if my clan would reject me or not....I agree with the whole animals lives getting cut short and everything. Thats why I usually ony hunt when I need to eat and I hunt for weak animals that look like there suffering. I would also feel kind of wierd if I was made of ice and was eating it too." She looked outside and wondered if it was warm out or not. "There are a lot of different animals out there. There are to many to name. I do eat meat but not a lot. I also doubt that he did that to a whole village. I have been near humans twice in my life. The first time I saw humans they were walking across the desert. I landed neer them and they looked really scared. I then tilted my head and I guess it looked funny to them because they started laughing. They soon trusted me enough to come close to me and pet my scales. I saw how exausted they looked and gave them a ride to the mountains where they were heading. I then saw a male human a few years after that and when I landed and cocked my head the way I did withthe other humans he shot at me with an arrow. He hit one of my scales making it bounce off and hit my feet. I was out of there before he could pick up the arrow. I will never go neer a single human again."

Cybera's face showed no expression the whole time Cobra was talking, though her mind was abuzz with thoughts. (A human tried to kill her... That makes no sense. Humans can't be that foolish outside of wherever that human was from.) Cybera smiled despite her doubts. Eating ice when you're made of ice would be really weird. And your clan should accept you, no matter what you eat. You seem like you are a wise and compassionate leader. She rolled her eyes. I doubt that Diosyre would've razed a village, humans have advanced quite far in recent years and his heart would have to be black as coal to take that many lives. She subtly tapped a scale on her forearm, pulling up a screen that only she could see. It was a list of every type of small animal in this region of Selzar. Around here, you could find deer, rabbits, mice, hawks... The list goes on and on. She blinked and the screen vanished. And dragons without a clan, as we are technically animals. She smiled, but it was only a smile on one half of her face. A few of her pure white razor teeth showed. Diosyre was telling the truth on one account. Humans have no fur except for the top of their head, no scales or wings, and walk on their hind legs. They also have dreadfully short lives, less than just one of our years. The females commonly pierce their ears with precious metals and stones.

Frostica listened as Cobra told about her encounter with humans. "So some of them are nice, but others are evil, just like dragons..." she mumbled, then turned to Cybera. "What are mice and hawks? Why do humans do such strange things?" she asked. "They seem so different form us..."
"Also, I think Diosyre probably did raze a village of them, regardless of how they have advanced. He seemed to be an pretty old dragon when I met him, and pretty nasty of course. He probably was a non-clan dragon.
"What do the clans do?", she asked them both. "Do they have their own territory? Do they have fights with one another?" Realizing that she was maybe talking too much, she lowered her head, a little embarassed. "Sorry that I'm asking too many questions again."

"I have no clue why humans are so strange. I also believe they are like us dragons. Some nice and others evil. Mice are little fury creatures who live in holes and are fast runners. They seem to like cheese. Hawks are kind of like us. It's just that there way smaller and instead of scales they have feathers and they only have two back legs. Well if he did raze a village I hope they strike him down with all there might and leave us alone. We don't deserve the blame. Don't worry about all the questions your asking. I like answereing your questions. It lets me remember what I might forget." She let her gaze wonder around the cave. I wonder if my clans ok......I have a feeling Naltanar is looking after them well enough...I hope... "We clans do have territories but we have yet to fight each other over anything. It's peacful in the clans. I hope it stayes that way. We need to be able to pull together if the dragons we are hearing about are real and are killing off other dragons." All of a sudden there was a screech in the distance. "That sounded like a draogons in pain!" She ran to the entrance of the cave and saw a dragon carrying something off into the distance. She looked more closly and saw that it was a dragon carrying another dragon away in it's talons. I hope that wasn't a dragon from my clan.....No It didn't come from the right direction. She looked back at the other dragons in the cave and saw a few other dragons fly by in the corner of her eye. She ran farther into the cave willing the other dragons to follow just in case they were spotted. She looked at them with worry in her eyes. "I think we should stay hidden in here for a while."

Cybera's spikes extended quickly as the screech sounded. A low growl came from her throat. That is indeed the sound of a dragon in pain. She stuck her head out of the cave entrance only to see three dragons flying away, the leader carrying another dragon. (Cowards. Three against one is never fair.) She turned away from the entrance, spines retracting. I'd go after them, but they're long gone. May they go to Hell and burn. She turned to Cobra. It would indeed be wise to stay here for awhile. They'll be circling for awhile, waiting for more prey. Us. She turned and walked into the cave, gradually adjusting her internal temperature to withstand the subzero temperature of the caves. Her scales didn't pulse this time, as it wasn't a sudden change. She looked over her shoulder. Come on. They'll check as far as they can into the caves too. I've seen their type before. She turned and continued to walk deeper into the caves. (Heartless are the Predators that prey on their own kind... The premonitions of war are stirring...)

Frostica winced as a screech sounded outside and ran to the entrance with Cobra and Cybera. She saw three dragons, one, the leader, holding another dragon in its sharp talons. "They look pretty evil. We should go farther into the caves... they might come for us..." she said, her voice shaking. She turned and walked a little into the caves, then glanced over her shoulder. "Do you think both of you could resist the temperatures in here?" she asked. "If either of you have fire magic, then that would be good. It gets really cold farther in."
Suddenly, she thought of an idea. "I know!" she exclaimed, her eyes widening. "There's a pretty large cave farther in that we could hide in. It's near the edge of the Caves, except you have to go through a bunch of tunnels and take a lot of turns to get there. They woudn't find us there!" She walked a bit farther into the tunnels until she came to the first fork. Her memory had come back slightly, so she remembered which tunnels to take. She carefully went over them in her mind, then she looked over her shoulder again at the two. "Coming?"

"I'll be able to handle it even though I don't have fire magick. I'm used to it when wonderind outside of Kukiron territory." She walked over to frostica and looked at the forked passage. "So this is one of the ways we have to go to get to the cave? Maybe hanging out in there will be better because we'll have more room. We will also be able to think more clearly about what to do becase they wont be able to find us. Lead the way Frostica. I can highly believe that they will come in here." She walked up to one of the assage ways inspecting the temperature.

Cybera nodded. I've got fire magic, don't worry. (Though I doubt I'll need it.) She turned and glanced once more out the entrance, noticing that the group of dragons had already vanished, their distant wing beats gone. (Crap! If they can fly that fast, they'll be back here within minutes! Plus, they'll stay on the coast of the mainland so that the clans won't see them, which gives us even less time.) She whirled around again and quickly walked to Frostica's position. Lead the way. You know these caves. The place you described sounds like a good place to hide. (I should record how we get to the cavern in case I ever come back here.) Cybera subtly tapped her claw tips together, turning her eyes into small video cameras that recorded what she saw. (There. And only I can tell.) She smiled and nodded to Frostica. Whenever you are ready.
