It was late at night, and the only sound to be heard was a small, trickling brook. Jura's lifted her head slowly, thinking about how she needed to make friends. Yet she couldn't seem work up the courage to talk to any other dragons. She sighed, then got up. "I should head back to the volcano." She stood up, and lifted her wings slowly, and took off. As she set out, she heard a strange noise. She couldn't put it to words, though. It was coming from the falls.

She listened and thought to herself: Whatever it is, it's none of my business. She kept heading for the volcano, but she heard the voice again. Maybe I could just take a quick look..... She wheeled around, and headed towards the falls.

As she got closer, the sound got louder. She circled a few times, then decide to land in a small clearing nearby the falls. She landed, then started walking. As the sound of rushing water got louder, so did the strange noise. Jura peered through the trees, only to see something move. All of a sudden, there was another dragon in front of her. She thought to herself Oh, boy.

Elumina had been forced awake by a spirit. She didn't know what or who it was, but it wanted her awake. She sighed and left the branch of The Tree of Life she had been sleeping on, knowing that spirits aren't to be trifled with. Her eyes went silver, the sign that a spirit was around. (What do you want?) She asked the spirit. Just come. It flew toward the falls. Elumina rolled her eyes and followed. (Another trip, jeez, don't spirits realize that the living need sleep?) She kept flying until she reached the falls, the spirit already landed. What now? the spirit smiled, and looked toward the sky. It's the blood moon, my dear. (So?) You know the tales. Elumina sighed. (They're just stories. Magic DOES NOT amplify. I''ve tried it, and my magic was normal) The spirit frowned. Are you sure? (Ok listen, I don't have patience for this. You're gonna go away.) The air began to almost hum, the spirit was so energized. It must've reached all dragons in a hundred miles. Elumina braced herself for the rite to send a spirit away. Loved one you were, but no more. Live only in tales of lore! The spirit vanished. She'll be back by sun up, so I'll need to be alone then. She turned and saw a dark brown dragoness. Elumina's eyes slipped from silver back to their usual yellow. She smiled uneasily. You heard that, huh?

"Oh! Um...... Hey?" Yeah, that sounded real bright. "Uh, hey! Don't I know you? Your that spirit dragon! I've heard of you!" Jura looked down, scratched the ground, then smiled sheepishly. "I mean, uh, sorry. My name is Jura. I didn't mean to sneak up on you like that." Jura backed up. "I'll just be going now." She took a few running steps, and took off. "Bye!" Who is she, really? And what was with her eyes? And that humming, for that matter? Oh, well. I'll figure it out later. Right now, I need my sleep. Jura shook her head drowsily. Man, am I tired! I think I'll just sllep by the falls tonight. She blinked, then yawned. Definantly need some sleep. She circled the falls, then found a small cave. Jura landed, then curled up and went to sleep.

"Jura? Where are you? Come back to me!" Jura awoke in a cold sweat. That same vioce again! What the heck is happening to me? This isn't normal, is it? She stood up, and stretched her legs. As she stepped out of the cave, she noticed how the sun hit the water. She turned her head left, then right, then said, "Well, as long as no one's looking....." She charged forward. I'll leap into the sky in a blaze of glory! As she reached the waters edge, however, she tripped and went flying into the pool. She surfaced instantly, spluttering an babbling "What the... How the...Why the... What happened?"

Elumina watched the little dragoness. Alright then. Her eyes turned silver as the same spirit came back. How'd you- Oh hush for a minute. And move over. What- Elumina gasped as the spirit possessed her. You're lucky that I remember how to move or you'd be here a while. And before you ask me, we're going to follow that dragon. Elumina felt her body moving, bounding across the ground with no control over her actions. She was following the brown dragon by smell through the night, footfalls silent. She eventually stopped outside of the cave that the dragoness had gone into. The spirit left her body and stood out away from Elumina. You sleep, I'll let you know when she is about to awake. (Sure, I can live with that) Elumina yawned and fell asleep. She woke with the spirit in her face, making her nose cold. (I'm up, I'm up) She ran into the line of trees, so that the other dragoness could wake up without freaking out at seeing Elumina. She saw the other dragoness come out of the cave and trip into the water. Elumina gave a snort and stepped out of the trees. She looked down at the other dragoness in the water. Her eyes were yellow, for the spirit had left after waking Elumina. I believe you tripped.

(I'm just gonna barge in, sorry :P)

Rain had slept alone, but well in some big bushes by the falls. She had travelled from the lake south, wondering what she would find here. The island was big, she had noticed that while trying to fly around it. The night before she had found the falls, and then found herself so tired she had gone sleeping in a bush.

The small white dragoness lay there in the bushes, not noticing a dragon passing right by her. Some time later, the sudden moving of wind made her hide-like scales twitch. Her long, black lashes slowly parted as she opened her big, almost white coloured eyes. She yawned and stretched her tiny body.

She heard a loud splash and stuck her head out of the bush. She cutely turned her head 45 degrees left, which she always did when she wondered about something. The scar across her left eye seemed out of place on the pretty face. Rain smiled as she saw that a dragon had fallen into the water and her round cheeks went slightly pink.

(It's cool, I don't mind!)

Jura floundered around in the water. "Uh, yeah. I guess I must've tripped." She looked up. It was the same dragon as before! How did she find me? Oh well. I guess I shouldn't run away this time. Jura swam towards the shore, but no matter how hard she swam, she shore wasn't getting any closer. In fact, It was getting further away! She turned her head to look behind her. She had only a moment to think Uh oh.. before she fell over the falls.

The rushing water covered her senses, making it impossible to see. All of a sudden, she splashed down into the second pool. Well, that was scary. She said to herself "Nice going! Man, am I an idiot!" She looked around at her surroundings. This pool was slightly larger than the one above, and a bit deeper. It looked peaceful, but as she started swimming, she felt a familiar tug. It was the current again. Jura panicked. She knew from scouting that the next waterfall was huge! If she fell over, she might break her neck when she hit the bottom. She tried to paddle harder, but to no avail. Just as she thought she was going to go over, her claws hit something. A large rock was somehow in the pool! She clambered forward, wrapping her legs around the rock. She cried out in a loud roar "Help!"

(OOC: I don't mind anybody joining in. More people, more fun.)

Elumina could only watch helplessly as Jura went over the falls. Her eyes went silver as a spirit came and possessed her. You're gonna help her. Elumina felt herself spring into the air and plunge over the falls, diving headfirst into the water. This spirit knew how to resist the current, so Elumina was in minimal danger. She heard a cry for help and turned in that direction. Jutting out of the water was a tall rock with the dragoness clinging to it. Elumina used her tail to snag the dragoness around her middle and began swimming toward shore. Elumina pulled the dragoness on to the bank and then shook herself like a dog, spraying water everywhere. The spirit left her body and moved toward the other dragoness, hovering near her. Elumina flew up to above the falls, perched in a place so that she could look over the other dragoness. The spirit was still hovering near the other dragoness. She realized that before the other dragoness had gone over the falls, there had been some movement in the brush. She turned her head towards where the movement had been and saw a very small white dragoness standing there. She nodded towards the white dragoness and turned back to watching the first dragoness. The spirit had left and the dragoness appeared to be okay. Elumina's eyes slid from the pupil cloaking silver back to yellow.

Rain's mood shifted from laughing to shock when she saw the dragoness get torn by the current. She moved closer to the water so she could see what was going on, and she saw another dragoness save her. She lost them both from sight for a little while, but a few seconds later she saw the white dragoness reappear. The dragoness nodded towards her and she smiled in return.

That dragoness seemed nice. She looked alot like Rain, only that Rain had white fur and the older dragoness had pale gray spikes on her back. Rain's young face was locked on the older white dragoness, as she could not see if the other one was okay. Rain's eyes turned quiestioningly and she hoped the older dragoness would give her some sort of hint of what happened to the other dragoness.

"Help!" As Jura yelled out, she looked around. I need something else to hang on to! She dug her claws deeper into the rock, but she could feel the current tugging at her. Darkness threatened to cloud her vision. She knew she couldn't hang on for much longer. Where's that spirit dragoness? She might be able to help me! As if summoned by her thoughts, the other dragoness suddenly appeared. Why isn't the current sweeping her away? Jura thought. Spots danced in front of her eyes, and she noticed herself growing weak. She could feel somthing being wrapped around her. All of a sudden, she was on dry land. She opened her eyes a crack to see something hovering above her. She managed to think Thank you before she passed out.

Jura thought to herself, Well. That wasn't fun. She felt as if something was out of place, but couldn't figure out what. Then it hit her: shouldn't she be hearing rushing water? She was at the falls, wasn't she? As she struggled to figure things out, a voice broke through her thoughts. "Jura? Honey, are you alright?" The voice sounded frantic. "She's not opening her eyes! Whats wrong?" Jura realized that her eyes were still closed. She opened them up, only to see two dragons standing before her. She could tell that they were mates. One, the female, was light brown with deep blue eyes. The male dragon was nearly black, but on closer inspection, she could tell that he was a deep brown. The dragoness spoke. "Jura! Oh honey! You're okay!" She looked concerned. "Who are you? And where am I?" Jura asked. The dragon replied, "It's okay, Jura. You safe. We'll visit you again soon." As he spoke, he started to fade away. She looked at the dragoness, only to see that she was fading, too. "Wait!" She cried. "Who are you?" But they only shook their heads. And then, they were gone.

Jura woke up, only to see silver eyes looking at her. "Well, that was strange."

Elumina saw the other dragoness stir and breathed a heavy sigh of relief. She turned to the white dragoness and smiled. As she turned back to watching the first dragoness, She noticed that another, different spirit had materialized. The scales on the back of her neck bristled, a sign that this spirit obviously meant harm. She snarled quietly and leapt down from her ledge, landing behind the spirit. Her eyes went silver as she braced her self for what the spirit would do, as ghosts had surprising power over the living. (Leave her alone, fell spirit!) The spirit turned to Elumina and smiled cockily. If you wish. But I warn you, when you die and walk this earth as I do, I will remember this... favor you ask of me. And I will require compensation. The spirit backed away from the other dragoness but didn't dissipate. Elumina bent down and stared into the dragoness' just opening eyes. Hey, you alright? Didn't anyone ever tell you that the falls have a deadly current in the late spring? Though she was scolding the other dragoness, her voice and eyes were kind. Let's head back up. She flapped her wings once and soared back up to the cliff where she had been sitting before. Upon landing, she nodded again to the white dragoness, then looked over her shoulder to see if the first dragoness was following.

Rain walked circles and sat down by the river when she saw the other white dragoness disappear to her left. She sat by the side of the water, and dipped her paw in it. The water tugged on her paw, but not enough to pull her into the water. She took her paw out again, and it was covered by a thin layer of water. When she heard a sound, her ears turned and she let the water glide off her paw.

She stood up, and her tail went from left to right as the white dragoness returned. Rain smiled, And then looked past her to see if the other dragoness was following her. Her almost white coloured eyes looked back at the other white dragoness, thick black lashes covering the surrounding eye. The scar, that was slightly darker than her skin, had torn through the inner corner of her eye. It had regrown fine, but her eye didn't look as before.

(Sorry I haven't been on...comp has had issues... my brain also died......)

Jura looked up at the dragoness. As she opened her eyes slowly, she heard her scold "Hey, you alright? Didn't anyone ever tell you that the falls have a deadly current in the late spring?" As Jura lifted her head, the dragoness spoke again. "Let's head back up." Then she soared up to the ledge. Jura nodded, then said "Uh..... sure. I mean, okay." She lifted off, and flew up to the ledge. As she landed, she felt a slight pain in her leg. She looked down, only to see herself bleeding. It wasn't a large cut, though. How did the dragoness not notice that? Then she looked down again, and noticed that the blood was barely visible against her dark scales. Scratch that....... She looked up at the dragoness, then said "So....... I think we..... well... we might....." Just say it! Jura thought. "I think.. we might need to talk. I have a strange feeling that you can help me." She looked down, and scratched the ground a little bit. "Actually, before I tell you why, I think somebody else has a right to join this conversation." She turned and looked at the small dragon behind the trees. "I don't know your name, but why don't you come over. I think you should be a part of this." She looked back to the other dragoness. "I mean, if that's okay with you....."

(It's alright. I'm surprised my old-as-dirt computer still runs.)

Elumina smiled as the other dragoness flew up to the ledge near her. She listened to the brown dragoness and nodded. I will talk to you, though I don't know if I can help. She turned to the white dragoness. You may listen if you want, youngling. (Something tells me that though young, this white dragoness knows more than I ever could.) The smell of blood hit Elumina's sensitive nose, a scent she smelt often in her position. The blood seemed to be coming from a cut in the brown dragoness' leg. Would you like me to heal that for you? It would be no trouble. Elumina settled herself on the ground and folded her wings. So, what is it that you think I can help you with?

(My creativity is divided right now, so the post is short.)

Rain smiled as she heard the invitation, and she walked over happily to the cut in the leg of the dark dragoness. She began humming a soothing song. As the melody filled the air, the wind itself seemed to start blowing in harmony with the tune.

Rain sat next to the dark-colored dragoness and blinked a couple of times, staring directly at the cut. In less than two seconds the wound was healed. The blood was still on top of her scales, so you couldn't see much of the healing. Rain turned to the conversation and tilted her head sideways.

"How did you do that?" Jura looked down at little dragon that had just healed her. "Well, I'm not going to complain. That feels a lot better. Thank you." She turned and looked at the older dragoness. "I believe you can help me with these dreams I have." Jura turned her head and looked away. "I'm not very social, so others don't get to know me well. But as soon as I saw you, something, I don't know, felt..........right." She turned back, then smiled. "I guess I should tell you them, instead of babbling like an idiot. Well, here it goes." She licked her lips, then said, "I wasn't even a year old when my parents died. I don't really remember them, so I can't tell if those I dream of are them. But I feel a connection to them that runs very deep. These dreams have gone on for a while, but they only started when joined my clan." She looked away for a moment. "After I ran away from my uncle. But that's in the past." She looked back at the dragoness. "I see them come to me. They are so close, but not close enough to touch. I've never heard them speak before." She shook her head. "Actually, I did. Just now, when I was out cold. They spoke to me. And they looked a lot like me, too. The female called me 'honey' and the male told me that 'I was safe.' Somehow, I feel you know what's happening to me. Can you help?"

Lumi was befuddled. Hmmm..... As far as I can tell, there's nothing that needs helping. Those "dreams" always seem real, yes? I think that these dreams are your parents checking up on you. She turned away for a moment, choosing her next words carefully. She turned back, locking eyes with both dragonesses in turn. Now I want you two to listen close. Sometimes when we die, we still "hang around" the living. These are spirits. Some are good, some are bad, but one thing is certain: They could kill you if you aren't careful. She shifted her weight and looked at the brown dragoness. No doubt that your parents shan't be killing anything, for they still care as you've described. But let me tell you once more, the spirits can kill you. They are dead, but the powerful ones can warp and twist your mind, making you go insane and see things that aren't really there. Lumi stopped and curled her tail around her, letting her words sink in for a moment. She closed her eyes, almost knowing that these two dragonesses wouldn't believe her. It was always hard to accept that the dead may indeed have more power over the living.

Rain intensly watched the two, taking in what they said. She always enjoyed learning from other dragon's expieriences. So there were spirits. She hoped fiercely that her mother would be okay, not wandering around here like a spirit. Rain began humming a happy song. The air around the three dragons started to feel very pleasant. She lay down and rolled over on her back. She looked up and thought about her mother. She looked forward to the day she would see her again. Mommy.. She whispered in her purest of pure voice, but so low that it would merely be audible.

(Okay, no longer grounded, so I will be on a bit more often now! :D )

Jura looked at the little dragon. "You are quite special, young one. I have never felt like this before. Thank you very much." She thought to herself This is the peace I have never known. She turned to look at the other dragoness. "Your name is Elumina, right? I don't know why, but for some reason, your story seems believable to me. I can understand that. Just before I woke up, I heard you say something. When I awoke, I felt as if whatever had been, hovering around me was, and is, gone."
She lowered her head. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to sound all wise. It's just like something is better now. I can't explain it, though." She lifted her snout, then started to manipulate the mist around the falls. A small rainbow started to form. "I can't do anything bigger than that one, but it always makes me feel happy." Suddenly, a wind came through and blew the rainbow away. "Darn! Why can't I conrol wind as well as water?" She looked around. "Oh, sorry. I can get distracted a bit when I'm around water. I just love rainbows." She dipped her head. "Elumina, is there a spirit by me? I've heard that you can somehow see spirits. Is there one around me?"

Lumi scanned the clearing. All she saw were the other dragonesses. She shook her head. There are no spirits around now. I'm afraid that I do not know your name though. I think you shouted it at me earlier, but you bolted away so quickly that I'm not quite sure what you said. Lumi uncurled her tail. But you are right, my name is Elumina. But pretty much everyone calls me Lumi. What you heard before you awoke was me ensuring that no spirits tried to take you into their ranks before your time. Lumi smiled. I do not possess the ability to create such beautiful rainbows, but I can do this. She shut her eyes and focused her energy magic into a ball. She then used her wind magic to create a small updraft, and placed the ball of energy into it. It spiraled erratically up in the tube of wind and burst into a small shower of tiny, harmless white sparks. All the sparks faded well before reaching the ground. Lumi smiled. Rainbows are nicer to look at though, and they stay longer.

Rain was surprised by the sudden yell of the dark dragoness. She flew up from her lying position and faced the two other dragonesses. She realised, though, that the yell had been out of frustration and not out of anger. Rain gave the dragonesses an apologetic look and now started to humm a song that made the air feel tickly, almost as if it were trying to make you laugh. Rain smiled as she hummed. The air quietly brushed through her white mane. Elumina. She would keep that name in her mind. The name of the other dragoness was... Jura? She eyed the dark dragoness thoughtfully while trying to figure out if it was the correct name.
