The sun had begun to set as Finn flew over the grassy expanses of the Central Plains, which he didn't know by name. The teal dragon was searching for his lost lover, wishing he could find her again. He had hated leaving like that and not finding her had cost him dearly. If only I had taken her with me.. No.. She might not have made it.. Oh Aries.. Where are you..? he thought forlornly, his head drooping slightly. His bright eyes looked everywhere, having to turn his head towards the left to make sure he hadn't missed anything. The sun's last rays falling on his back made his aqua colored scales to flash brilliantly, taking on a violet hue. He had flown over to the island about a week ago and had made it this far, searching everywhere. He hadn't met anyone so far who had met her, or seen anyone of her description. Once, he'd gotten his hopes up, but it was of another dragon, male no less. He let out a soft yowl of despair as he landed, resting his tired wings for a moment, before going to continue. |

The grassy plains seemed to be never ending. It was like a flowing ocean as the grass tossled in the slight breeze. The sun cast it's beautiful glow on the grasses, giving it a pinkish glint. A couple clouds came into the sky, giving everything an amazing look. It was almost like a dream, except that is more real than the eyes thought of it. Alara glided around the clouds, dropping to fly fifty feet from the top of the grasses. The breeze was light and soft, giving her a free feeling. This was what she loved the most; to feel peaceful, and actually being wanted in the world. But her eyes scanned the area until she saw a teal male dragon, flying. A soft yowl escaped his throat, and a yearning sturred in Alara's stomach. This dragon looked lost, and despair was written on his face. She wanted to help him feel better. Besides, he seemed lost, and she hated to see dragons in his state. She flew up to him on his right side, not wanting to scare him. She gave the dragon a soft grunt, letting him know that another dragoness was approaching. The last thing she wanted to do was scare him, and he was much bigger than her. If things turned sour, he would no doubt kill her easily. As she flew up to him, she could see his features. A pang of excitement ripped through her stomach. He was handsome in his own way. Was this the feeling Erosion talked about when he demonstrated the padlock and key? But this dragon's look in his eyes made Alara sad. What if he was looking for someone. Is something wrong? Her voice was quiet, almost frightened, but she tried to keep a straight face as she looked at him. They flew alongside each other, but Alara made sure she had the upper ground in case he decided to attack, which she hoped he wouldn't. |

Finn looked up when a dragon flew next to him. and, by her scent, he could tell she was female. Her blue scales shone brilliantly in the evening sun and, even though she was young, he couldn't help but think how beautiful she was. He'd rarely seen such a brilliant and fresh color on anyone.. It was so like the sky's clear blue that.. Now he was thinking of coulds, and how Aries' scales looked like them. You could say that.. he told her, grateful for the company, at least. And maybe, just maybe, this beautiful young lass could help him find who he wanted to. I've been searching for someone, but I've had no luck.. You wouldn't know of a dragoness that goes by the name of Aries, would you..? White scales, silver eyes, small in size? he asked, his heart picking up when he saw her expression. Maybe she can help me? he wondered urgently. Please, my name is Finn. he added, introducing himself, suddenly realizing he was being rude. I apologize for the rudeness. Would you honor me with your name, my lady? |

He was so...she wasn't sure what the word was, but something sparked up inside her. Then he said he was searching for a dragoness, and when he said Aries, Alara couldn't help but have the most surprised expression on her face. His descriptions of her were exact, and her eyes went big at the thought. Then he asked what her name was, but she was still in a state of shock when he said Aries's name. She was trying to find the right words, but nothing came out. Ever her mind wouldn't work right. But finally, she spoke in a hoarse voice. How could he possibly know about Aries when he looked so helpless? Umm, my name is Alara. But this dragoness you speak off... She wasn't sure if she should lie, but she wasn't that sort of person. Aries is in my clan, just over the horizen. But...how do you know her? Still, her voice held shock and she dipped low to the ground, finally landing. Her eyes stared at the ground, holding a glassy look. She was thinking long and hard. What would he say if he found out about Zil'caron? Would he be crushed? And when he said her name, it sounded like he held emotions for her. And Aries hadn't said anything about a dragon ever since Alara met her. After these thoughts, she shook her head, snorting. All in all, she was confused, and even Finn looked puzzled when she was in the air with him. If he was finding Aries, then...was he in love with her? At that thought, all hope was shattered for her with this dragon. How could she be so torn over something so little? But that was her, and nothing could change it. I guess you'd like to see her... It wasn't a question, but a statement, and it held a bit of sadness. |

You know her? he asked her increduously, her heart leaping in his throat. Here he'd lost all hope, and there she was, bringing it bac to him. She's my firend, and I've been looking everywhere for her.. please.. Please take me to her. he begged her, his voice yearning. I'd like nothing more than to see her. he affirmed, following her. She can take me to Aries! I found her, at last! he thought jubiliantly. We can be reunited again! Now his entire demeanor was changed as they flew back towards the clanlands, he suspected. He was tense with anticipation and happiness. I can't thank you enough. he told Alara. Even through his nirvana of bliss, he grinned at her contently, noticing how beautiful the sun's rays reflecting off her scales was. I'm coming, Aries! he thought eagerly, hardly able to fly any faster, as he was focused on flying there, on reaching her. (Go ahead and take us to the camp, Emz. XD) |

Alara watched as excitement flashed over Finn's face. He was surely excited, but was he a bit too excited? It was hard to keep up with him in the air, but before that, he thanked her deeply, and that slowly sank into her skin. He actually thanked her, for something she had no idea of before she found him. Nodding once, she was flying in the air again, trying to keep up with Finn who's wings were beating fast, and she was afraid he was going to drop like a weight. "Easy there, killer..." But in about an hour, they had reached the clanlands, and already, she could see the great tree in the distance, and dragons were flying around. She scanned the area, trying to find the white dragoness. After a few seconds, she saw her and dropped into a dive. Once she was fifty feet from the ground, she pulled out of the dive, her wings resisting the pushing air, and she soon landed. Aries was fifteen feet in front of her, and there was a look of surprise as Finn landed beside Alara. Umm, he claims to know you. The words were difficult to come out, but her shocked and confused face showed from beneath her scales, trying to figure out Aries's expression. The thought of her telling Finn about Zil'caron, shook Alara's insides, and she wasn't sure if she should stick around for that, but she had to wait for their response. |

Finn flew by her side as she led him where their clan was supposed to be. Sure enough, they passed over a lush green meadow and were headed towards an enormous tree. The blue dragoness dived suddenly and he followed her, and then, he saw.. He saw her. Aries! he roared in joy. ~/ It was close to dusk and she was returning to her den, where she knew Zil'caron to be waiting, but she was taking her time, nervous about it. She didn't notice those around her, all too used to the clatter of living amongst many dragons, but when someone roared her name, she froze solid. It can't be.. She looked up and, sure enough, there by Alara's side was a teal-colored dragon that could only be her old friend, Finn. Finn? she squeaked in shock, her eyes wide as never before. He landed near her and ran to her side, flinging his wings around her. She didn't move as he envellopped her in a huge hug, feeling the color rise in her cheeks as he did so, but suddenly, her wings flared and she withdrew, glaring at him. How dare you! she roared in anger, her hackles rising. Finn withdrew, as shocked as she had been to see him, but he understood. It's not what you think it is. I didn't abandon you, I swear it, Aries. he told her quickly, but dodged a burst of energy, that would have flown far over his head. Liar! How dare you show your face to me again!? Have you any idea what you put me through? she screamed, her whole body trembling in grief and rage. How dare he! He! I! she could only stammer to herself, pure, unadulterated fury dominating her mind. I swear, it's not what you think.. Please listen to me, Aries! Finn begged her, now desperation coloring his voice. You have to listen to me! He turned to Alara, suddenly, and begged her, too. No! she just screamed. Please! |

Finn roared Aries's name in excitement, and Alara was sure that would be the same for Aries, but oh no, it took a turn for something Alara had no idea was in Aries, for she totally went off on Finn. At first, Alara stood there in fright, not sure if she should interfere or keep her distance, but it started to turn ugly as Finn pleaded her for help. But Alara wasn't choosing sides for the sake of her friends. She breathed in deep, and a roar escaped her mouth. It was loud enough for the dragons around them to hear, and she didn't care if they heard her or not, but she knew that if she was any quieter, she wouldn't have gotten their attention. There was anger in her face and authority, even if these two dragons were older than her. This was no way to treat each other out in public. Let's get to my den before other curious eyes see us, and before you two start attacking each other. I'm not going to let you two do this to each other. With that, she stepped in between them, baring her teeth slightly. She wasn't trying to be mean, she was just trying to settle this dispute. It was for their own good, and she even felt bad as she did it to Finn. She looked at him apologetically once before lifting her wings slightly, seeing what their reaction to leaving was. |

(I was told to come in, and that it what I will do.) The idea had been swirling around in his head for a while now. After spending so much time with her after getting back to her from the volcano and helping nurse her back to decent health Zil had grown majorly fond of Aries. Enough to the point where his confidence was at his highest. All of his emotions were on full tilt right now as everything was starting to fall into place. In their time spent with each other. he felt like they had gotten to a point deeper of just being friends, but weren't actually mates yet. Today was the day, however, that this would change. His confidence had grown to it's fullest and when Aries got back to the den, he had made the decision to finally ask her to be his mate. He looked out of the den and saw her beginning to return. It's now or never... he thought to himself as he awaited her entrance. It never came. Instead, she froze in mid-air as he heard her name called out through the air. She was met by a teal dragon that locked her in an embrace, male by the scent. He wasn't sure what was going on, but she pushed away from him and shouted something. He didn't know what it was, but he could tell by the tone and her action that she wasn't happy. With that he pushed himself into the sky immediately still nursing his own injured wing from the tear. It stung for a few seconds in flight, but for all he knew Aries was in trouble, and he needed to get to her. Zil'caron landed right next to Aries catching the latter half of the confrontation. He grew angered towards the dragon that was antagonizing her. I beg your pardon sir, but I do believe that this dragoness has stated that she has no desire to listen to you. I do believe it a course of dishonor to continue pressing this issue, and if you wish to remain healthy, I highly recommend it. I may be greatly under-sized, but do not underestimate me. If you do it will be the last mistake you ever make, hurting her would be your first, he told the teal bull before turning to Aries. Are you alright, did he hurt you at all? He asked. If he so much as took a scale off of her, he would make him burn with all the acid that his body could produce. |

(Elazar, you're too amusing And Emz, CUTE!) Aries was just about to fly at Finn when Alara stood in-between the two and roared so loudly it hurt her head. She bared her teeth at the younger dragoness, but she felt some of her anger abated, as if some reason was returning. When Alara reprimanded them for being so public, she glared to the side, conceding the point. She couln't argue with that point. She was about to hiss a reply as Zil'caron swooped down and landed by her side, jumping to her defense. Despite her justified, in her opinion, anger, she felt a twinge of love for the ebony dragon and inched a little closer to him. t was going on, but she pushed away from him and shouted something. He didn't know what it was, but he could tell by the tone and her action that she wasn't happy. With that he pushed himself into the sky immediately still nursing his own injured wing from the tear. It stung for a few seconds in flight, but for all he knew Aries was in trouble, and he needed to get to her. I beg your pardon sir, but I do believe that this dragoness has stated that she has no desire to listen to you. I do believe it a course of dishonor to continue pressing this issue, and if you wish to remain healthy, I highly recommend it. I may be greatly under-sized, but do not underestimate me. If you do it will be the last mistake you ever make, hurting her would be your first, he told the teal bull sternly, and to the point, before turning to her. Are you alright, did he hurt you at all? With him by her side, and Alara having knocked some stern sense into her, she calmed down somewhat. I'm fine.. she assured him in a gentle voice, licking hick cheek slightly. He.. He's an old friend.. The one I mentioned.. she sighed, turning to look back at Finn, her anger rising somewhat again. ~/ Finn could only watch helplessly as Alara stood in between them, roaring fit to burst as she brought them back to order, as he realized. Let's get to my den before other curious eyes see us, and before you two start attacking each other. I'm not going to let you two do this to each other. she said firmly, and, despite his total disappoiintment and fear of what Aries was thinking, he couldn't help but admire her for it; that she had dared to stand up to two older dragons and yell at them. Not many had the guts. And besides, he was eager to calm his old friend down. Good idea. he told her quickly. Lets do just that- He was interrupted, though, when a small-ish black dragon landed by Aries, he growled. This dragon, whom he could smell as male, proceeded to tell him in a firmly polite, yet arrogant way that he should bother her. Who, he! Bother his olf friend and love! He puffed himself up to his own considerable size and growled deep in his throat, Alara's wise words already forgotten. Who do you think you are, telling me what to do? She's my friend, and I must settle a misunderstanding that lies between us! he told him angrily, letting Aries hear his words. If she noticed, however, she ignored him, laying her head against the other dragon's, in a way as if she had a tremendous headache. it was a heavy blow, seeing her like that, so tender and loving, as she had been with him. His anger melted away, and deep hurt and sorrow took its place, as he slumped where he stood, his tail drooping. So that's how it is.. |

The next thing Alara knew, Zil'caron decided to join the situation, and he added some threats to his speech to Finn. But Alara knew that this wasn't going to turn out right, and with this arguement going on, she could see more dragons and dragoness' coming closer to hear them. Why didn't they just mind their own business, for goodness sakes. Alara curled her lip to show some of her teeth, and some dragons got the messege, but others stayed and watched. Finn shot back a couple of his words for the arguement, and she knew things were going to get out of hand soon. Zil was in love with Aries, and Alara wondered if Finn was in love with Aries, too, because from the looks he was giving Aries, it all seemed to fall into pieces. Finn would be crushed, and after his words, he looked sad. Like I said, maybe we should finish this dispute somewhere else, or go on with what we were doing. I'm going back to my den, if anyone look like to join me. Finn? She questioned him, letting him know and trying to urge him away from this. She'd just have to explain Zil and Aries to him later when they weren't around to get into things. |

(I was told I could join with Avalon since he enjoys these types of disputes) Avalon was sitting by Dawn talking to her when he heard a strange male voice calling out the name Aries. When he looked into the sky he saw a teal dragon fly towards Aries and wrap his wings around her. He saw Aries push him away from her and start yelling at him. He licked Dawns cheek tenderly with all the love he had for her and started to walk towards the yelling. He smiled as Alara rourd so loud thaT all the dragon in the camp could hear. Then he saw Zil'caron fly towards the group and defend Aries. What is going on? Do they both like Aries? Heh, Nice job Aries. He heard Alara say they should go back to her den so not to atract the other dragon more than they had and so that they could do the talking in peace. He shoved some dragon that were getting closer out of the way and saw Alara flash her teeth at all of them. What wimps, flinching for a few shown teeth. He walked closer still hoping to catch more of the action. He went and stood next to the teal dragon and smiled at all of them. To which do I owe the honor of interupting? Such and interesting fight with words might I add. He stared at the teal dragon waiting for his name. |

Zil let out a small growl when Aries told him that it was him. What he had done to her was in his eyes unforgivable to up and leave such a beautiful dragoness to fend for herself with those beasts running about. Not to mention any other random bull that would want to have his way with her would do so in a heart beat. He felt her lick him and lay her head against him. He just licked the side of her cheek and brushed his head to hers. He won't hurt you any more, he promised Aries turning to the dragon. He had started coming back at him with the typical who do you think you are nonsense. Who am I? I'm her friend, and one that didn't go off and abandon her in the middle of the night. Leaving her alone in a land infested with chaos with little to nothing that could be done against the monsters that are present. So in other words, I'm a dragon that is not like you. I protect the ones I care for with my life. He told the dragon. It obviously told this dragon that Aries trusted him enough to tell him about it. There was no other way that he would have ever known about it other wise. He knew that would hit him hard as well especially after he was already drooping. Seeing Aries with himself must have been just as hard. He wrapped his wing around Aries just to try to comfort her more being careful with the torn part that still hasn't completely healed. |

Aries didn't look at the teal dragon any longer, snuggling against Zil'caron's side for the time being as she heard him state what he was to her. A small shiver ran through her at that, and she raised her head, looking up at the black and gold male, then at Finn. Her gaze was steady, if not depressed, but not filled with hate. In fact, he's mroe than a friend. he told him gently, yet firmly. He's my mate, if he'd have me. She looked away from Finn again and up at Zil'caron's face, which was a little higher than hers, her gaze questioning, yet loving. As far as she was concerned, Finn was no longer there. Zil was like a pacifier, in a sense, as with his wing around her, she felt calm and at peace. If she hadn't been looking into his eyes, she'd have licked his wing. ~/ Finn couldn't bring himself to reply to Zil'caron's sarcastic remark. he could only hang his head in recognition. A small whimper escaped his clenched jaw as he felt the heavy guilt sting him at Zil's accusations. Aries'' reply was the final blow. His head hung even lower and he nodded softly, not waiting to hear the black and gold bull's reply. I'm sorry. he just said softly, looking at Aries. Even more so that I couldn't find you sooner.. Now I've lost you for ever. Goodbye, Finn. she just replied softly, glancing at him, still close to the one she loved. That had been him once. Dissapointment cut into him like a knife, and he just nodded. Goodbye. he said and turned away from them, turning to Avalon. My name would be Finn, as you have probably guessed. he told him simply, his eyes turbulent as if he would just drop dead. And interesting as it may seem to an outsider, it isn't in fact so. Honored to meet you, ut I must take my leave.. I am no longer wanted, or needed, here.. He turned to Alara, his eyes despondent. Yes.. Could I follow you..? he asked the beautiful, young dragoness, not wanting to break down emotionally in front of Aries and the crude beast she was leaned up against. Her, he felt he could trust. Perhaps it was her youthful spring, or her guts, but whatever it was, it was telling him she was to be trusted. |

A dragon joined the group, and Alara was surprised to see another dragon join the group. If more and more people came, then it would just get complicated. Zil'caron shot Finn another snide of venemous words, to which Alara cringed. It obviously hurt Finn even more when Aries said her goodbyes. That's when she knew everything would come crashing down for Finn, as his body language pretty much told it all. And then he asked Alara if he could go with her. Yeah, sure, whatever you'd like. She didn't want to hurt his feelings for saying no, and she wasn't going to do that anyway. He looked like he was close to tears, and his head was bent low. She nudged his head up higher with her head. Please don't feel sad. Her words were soft and encouraging. There was Avalon. She nodded in acknoledgement to him before lifting herself into the air. Finn would follow if he wanted to, and her main priority was to listen to him, and understand him. She wanted to make him feel better, and him being sad made Alara sad. As she flew to the big tree, she kept on glancing behind her shoulder to make sure Finn was behind her. She lifted herself higher into the air, heading up to her den which was two levels below Silvera's. It was spacey, and altogether comfy and warm. She landed in her den, walking in so Finn could land easily. Leaves and grass littered the floor so the den was more warm, and laying down would be more comfortable. She had piled a large ammount of leaves, grass, and dirt for a bed of her own, and she always had a second bed just in case. Edited by Emz, Oct 4 2009, 01:13 PM.

Zil'caron had just noticed that another dragon had entered this dispute. He wondered how this was going to turn out. His answer came immediately though after what he had heard Aries tell the dragon. That he was more than a friend to her that he was her mate if he chose to make her so. Everything inside of him lit up. He had every intention of asking her himself, but it was obvious that mutual feelings existed between them as he felt her snuggle even closer to him. He look down on her just a little bit though as her head was just a little bit lower than his. Then he pushed the tip of his snout to hers and flicked his tongue out a few times to lick her on the tip of her snout then completely wrapped himself around her. Aries, he said slowly brushing his tongue over the side of her lushishly soft neck bringing his other wing around carefully creating a full hugging embrace. He the pulled his head back to look her in the eyes for his response. I would love to have you by my side as my mate. Everything was sealed now, and by the scents around him the time was nearing for the season to come in. he was ready whenever she was. |

Finn just shook his head at Alara and took to the wing, following her nubmly through the air to only where she knew she was going. he was lost, lost in this land, and the only link he'd held was gone to him, most likely forever. How could I have let this happen..? he thought miserably to himself, cursing himself for having treated the situation so. If only he'd torn that black dragon to bit- no.. he'd never have forgiven himself for that.. If Aries was happy, he should have been happy, too. He landed after the female in quite an airy den, he supposed it was, strewn with leaves for comfort and warmth. In all aspects, he supposed it was a nice place to live. Folding his wings, he bowed his head at the dragoness. Forgive me for intruding, but I needed to leave there. I thank you dearly for your hospitality, and assure you no harm will come to you because of me, if ever you fear. I can't thank you enough for your help. he told her. Even if the words were heavy, they were sincere, and he was grateful to Alara for giving him the chance to escape. ~/ Aries started to laugh happily when he licked her over and over again, rubbing her cheek against his warm neck as he was doing, her eyes closed in bliss. They were finally together officially and soon, she could feel, they could even re-enact the contents of that dream he'd had, which she'd shared repeatedly over the last few days. I love you, Zil. she told him softly, the first time she'd ever said it to anyone. She curled up by his side under the shelter of his wings, not caring at all that they were in plain sight of every Tom, Dick and Harry on the block. Shall we retire to somewhere more.. private..? she suggested gently. |

Finn had landed in her den, and she looked up at him with curious, loving eyes. But when he appologized for intruding on her because of leaving Aries and Zil, Alara shook her head. She walked over to him, looking down his slender teal body. She led him out of the sunlight and deeper into the den, out of the warmth outside. It was at the point where it was cold, but it was still warm. It was warmer in the contents of the leaves. You don't need to appologize, Finn. I'm glad I met you. I'm glad that I'm helping you. If you need a place to stay, I have an exra bed in here, unless you're more quaint to the ground outside. With that, she looked briefly over his shoulder. But it can get pretty cold at night, and the ground isn't very soft. With that, she gave him a smile. Alara spread her wings, ruffling them a bit. She looked back at Finn, and again, that same feeling came to her stomach. It was probably nothing, but her mind was still fighting over the debate. But she decided to lay down on the den floor, spreading her wings out, but folding them back when she remembered Finn was in here. If he wanted space, her wingspan was a bit too long for both of them to do that. Her head rested against her paws, and she stared dreamily out the setting sun. Of course, this den was perfect for her, and each night she would lay down and watch the sunset. This one was especially beautiful, with the different shades of pink and purple. Sighing happily, she spoke. Hmm...Finn. I like that name. |

Avalon yawned as the other dragon showed his displeasure to him. Well then someones in a bad mood. He smiled as the other dragon who said his mane was Finn flew off with Alara. I don't think someone should talk to a dragon that he barely knows and who could kill him easily. Hmm...I guess he just doesn't know that. He then stared at Aries and Zil as they showed affection. Yuck. Well, this has gotten very boring. I wonder what Dawns thinking about... He smiled at them and walked away towards Dawn. He wasn't in the best of moods today, explaining his talking and attitude. The only dragon that could put him in a good mood and usually keep him out of this type of trouble was Dawn. He smiled at the thought of what he put into the minds of the others. Hmmm.....I wonder what Sil will say when she knows how I talked to them.... Oh well. He sat back down next to Dawn closing the rest of the world off except for her again. |

Aries started to laugh happily next to him as he started licking her neck, and he felt her rubbing against his. This was a happy moment for the both of them. Everything had finally been sealed. He and Aries were mates now, and he could ask for nothing more. He felt her curl up underneath his wings, and she heard her tell him something that he hadn't heard in a long time, at least since he had left his home. She told him that she loved him. She curled up even more in his wings. I love you too Aries, very very much. He told her happily laying his head along her warm body contently listening to the rhythm of her bodies pulse. He pulled his wings in tighter pulling himself closer and tighter to her, but yet still gentle as not to squish her or make her uncomfortable. She then suggested an idea about going someplace a bit more private. He could feel the emotions and desire inside of him getting stronger. He suddenly felt that he was beginning to poke out a bit. Here in front of everyone. He wondered if she noticed and what she would think about it. It definitely told him that he needed to get to a more private place to if nothing else calm himself down. He licked Aries on the side of her neck once again and pushed himself up. I think that would be a wonderful idea. He told her. He really wanted to get to a den before he was completely sticking out. He was already about halfway. |
