| Welcome to The Dragons of Selzar. This place is designed as a Role-play site where you literally live as a dragon. You create your dragon character, join one of the five dragon clans, and then you live it's life as if it was your life, and adapt it to different scenarios that are brought upon you by other users and characters. This place is a lot of fun and that's what everything is all about. Come and Join our clan of Dragons! ~Silvera~ ~Head Admin~ |

Novel/Short Stories Rules Posting in Novel/Short Stories Any type of plagiarism is not allowed, and all works that you post MUST be your own work, not anyone else’s. You are required one thread for each story, except for Poetry where you can only have one thread for all your work (Rule starts 9/27/09). Make sure you put your story up in the right sub-forum. If you’re not sure, feel free to PM any of the Arts Moderators. Posting in the Threads All posts must contribute to the story. NO spamming is allowed. Consequences include warnings, and if continued, suspension. This is what the great invention of PMs are for. Critics are for helping people only. If your critic for a story isn’t constructive, such as, “Hey, nice job. Keep it up!” you will get warned. Explain why you like the story, and help them become better writers. Don’t expect every critic to be “sugar-coated” for you. Don’t go whining to the maker of the critic, because it will get you nowhere. Complaining to a mod about this won’t work, either. React in a civil way. Do NOT bump your work to the top of the page, unless you have an update for a chapter. If you consistently do this, consequences will be handed out. If your work hasn’t been replied to in 25 days, you may bump, but only if need be. Any work with nudity or pornographic material MUST be rated for the viewer. (See bottom of page for more info.) Tips and Guidelines One thing that really strikes people with their work, is that if no one hasn’t posted, don’t expect they haven’t been reading it. Even if they don’t post, your views get bigger and bigger, it means that people are checking out your story, along with getting interested in it. Critiquing is very helpful for the author. It improves their skills, and gets them interested in future writing. It also enhances your own writing skills at the same time, so it’s a win-win for everyone. Don’t be afraid to help the author, and author, be thankful that they take the time to critic. Rating If you believe that any of these ratings should be implied with your story, make sure to put it in your description of your story or chapter. It gives the reader a heads up on what they’re about to get themselves into. (S) Explicit or overt sexual content. * (V) Explicit or overt violence. * (M) Other overt or explicit mature content, e.g. alcohol use, drug use, strong cursing, etc. (SV) Overt or explicit sexual content and violence. (H) Contains all of the above and more. Read at your own risk. If you're not sure if a rating should be applyed or not, PM an Arts Moderator. Novel/Short Stories Rules *In any possible case, explicit sexual content, violence or profanity is not allowed. If you are unsure if the content you wish to post is too explicit, PM a moderator. Since these aren't really up for Negotiation, I'm going to go ahead and close this. Failure to read these rules will not be an acceptable excuse as to not following them. |
