Name: Tarianna Nickname: Tarin Dragon type: Western Age: 17 Gender: Female Clan: Furick Position: Alphess Magic (Strength) Water: Mastered Healing: Very strong Fire: Strong Earth: Strong Appearance: Tarin has scales that are colored a deep cerulean and are smooth like stones that have lain for a long while at the bottom of a river. The scales on her throat and underside are paler and smoother than her other scales. The membrane of the wings that sprout from her back are colored a deeper blue than the scales on her back and look like silken sheets, but when touched, feel more like leather. One of her eyes is green while the other is a soft grey color. A line of ivory spines runs the length of her back, from her nose to the tip of her tail. There are two ivory spikes at the end of her tail in the shape of an upside down "V". Her claws are off white and sharp, should a fight ever break out. The teeth that line her mouth are small ivory spikes and the gums that hold them are a pinkish red. Personality: Tarin is very calm and is hardly ever mad, as she keeps her temper in check for as long as possible. However, once she reaches her breaking point, she will snap and attack whoever has angered her, either with words or with her claws. This has only ever happened twice though. She prefers to listen to all sides of a story before drawing any conclusion. She is always willing to lend an ear should anyone want to talk in any sense of the word. She stands up for what she believes in and will voice her opinion if it is asked or not. She is very accepting of others and their differences. Spare moments find her humming or walking around in the woods, and on occasion, carving small things out of tree branches with her claws. History: Tarin was one of a clutch of five eggs, having two brothers and two sisters. All five had two bright green eyes, the only real similarity between any two of them. Her family lived in a sort of miniature clan, acting as Alphas among several other families. They told the entire clan to not trust humans, and that they were evil and would kill any dragons they could find. They also said to avoid magic unless you were specifically trained and had highly developed resistance to its power, or it would poison your soul. Tarin believed these as unchangeable truths for many years. One day, as she was hunting, she came across a human. Both were at first terrified at what the other might do, as they had heard all kinds of stories about the other’s kind. When Tarin saw that he was scared of her, she asked him why he was afraid. He began to tell her all over the stories he had learned all his life, that dragons only destroyed and that seeing them was a sign of Armageddon. Tarin replied with that she had been told that humans were the same. Both were interested about the other, wanting to know the truth instead of just the stories. His name was Tysva, and he was twelve years old. They agreed that every week, they would meet and teach the other how they lived. Tarin was ten dragon years old. Their meetings continued for quite some time, roughly about half a human year. Tysva began to learn a bit of magic and taught it to Tarin, and Tarin in turn, made him carvings of birds and animals. However, this was not to continue for long. As Tarin was preparing some carvings of her family to show Tysva, her sister, younger than her by only a few minutes and much less mature begged Tarin to play with her. Tarin refused, but her sister kept begging her. Tarin kept refusing and then just began to ignore her. After an hour of nonstop annoyance, Tarin hit her breaking point and snapped at her sister, calling her a stupid little girl and that she had places to be. Once Tarin saw what she had done to her sister, she tried to apologize, but her sister flew back off to the family’s nest. Tarin finished her carving, and then went to meet Tysva. When Tarin arrived at their meeting place, she found that Tysva had just arrived. The two began talking as they usually did, but a few minutes after Tarin showed Tysva her carvings, they heard someone yelp loudly behind Tarin. Her sister had followed her, as their mother suggested so that she could keep Tarin company. She had come in time to hear Tarin talking to someone, but had first thought it another dragon, but when she saw Tysva, she had yelped in fear. Tarin tried to convince her sister that Tysva wasn’t like the stories, but her sister didn’t listen, choosing to fly back and tell their mother. Tarin let her sister fly back, choosing to walk herself. She knew there would be harsh words for her. Roughly halfway back to her family’s nest, Tarin decided that she would take a quick break to rest her legs. As she was resting, a group of 4 dragons from the small clan set upon her and told her that she was to come with them. One took her front legs, one took her back legs, and the other two flew alongside to prevent attacks. They took her to her family’s nest and each bound one of her legs to the ground with a different type of magic. She was forced to stand there, bound to the floor as her own Father listed the “crime” – interacting with a human outside of a fight. He exiled her from the clan, remorse in his eyes. The bindings around her legs were dropped and she was escorted to beyond the clan lands. Once she had reached the edge of the clan’s lands, the escorts turned back to where they had come from. Tarin waited until they were out of sight, then flew to the meeting point, hoping to find Tysva there. When she landed, she found Tysva sitting on a rock, looking at one of the carvings that Tarin had completed. It was one of the ones that showed her entire family sitting together. When Tarin saw it, she just broke down and began to cry. Tysva walked over to Tarin and laid his hand on one of the spines on her back and asked her what was the matter. She told him how she had been exiled for talking to him. He told her to not worry, that if she wanted, he could find a way to let her live in his village, though it would require her to give up quite a bit. She would have to become human. Tarin, open to accept anything, agreed. Tarin slept overnight in the clearing as Tysva went back to his village. The next day, he returned to the clearing with an ancient book of spells, curses, and rituals. He showed her a spell, originally intended as a curse to turn someone into a dragon, and on the opposite page, the spell to undo it. Tysva figured that if he read the first spell, it wouldn't do anything, but reading the second spell should turn Tarin into a human. Tarin agreed to give it a try. Tysva handed her some of his elder sister's old clothes that he had thought would fit Tarin, as he realized that after reading the second spell, if it did make Tarin into a human, then she wouldn't have any clothes. Tarin positioned herself behind a large bush that would hid her once she became human as Tysva reread the spell several times to be sure it was right. Once he was ready, he began to recite the first spell. It went without a hitch, the only change being that two spikes grew at the end of her tail. Tysva stopped for a moment before reading the second spell. This time, there were several flashes of light as Tarin became a human. It was rather painful, as her bones repositioned and her scales receded into her skin. Once it was done, Tarin found herself lying on the ground without any clothes on. Tysva, being careful not to look, handed Tarin his sister's clothes. She gratefully put them on, even though they ended up being several sizes too large. She asked Tysva how he had managed to get them out of his vilage. He told her that he had said that he was bringing them to his sister's grave. Tarin didn't bring it up after that. After getting a look at herself in a puddle, seeing her now grey eyes, white blond hair, and slender limbs. Tysva brought her back to his village and showed he the house he shared with his grandmother, and once his sister as well. He had told his grandmother of his idea, and she had thought it a good one, as she remembered the days before the tales of the dragons being evil had taken the place of the truth. She told Tarin that she was a spitting image of Tysva's sister, Yvanne, and that Tarin could stay in Yvanne's room. Tarin lived for about a human year in Tysva's village, aging and living as a human does. She continued to live with Tysva and his grandmother, learning magic and meeting new friends. Tarin thought she would be happy with living as a human for the rest of her life. That is, until she saw a dragon flying through the sky above the village. Tarin saw that it was her younger sister. Noticing that the she was angled as if she was going to land, Tarin ran to where her sister seemed to be headed. Tarin found her sister in a clearing not far from the village. Her sister couldn't recognize Tarin and recoiled at the sight of a human. Tarin called her sister by name and asked if she remembered her. Her sister's response was that she remembered her sister Tarin, not a dragon in a human shell, that it was against the law of her clan for a dragon to speak with a human, and that her sister would've known that. Tarin was shaken greatly. She stood there unspeaking, unmoving, even after her sister had flown away. It wasn't until sunset that Tysva found her standing there. He asked her what was wrong and she sunk to her knees and just began to sob about how much she had changed. Tysva just held her, telling her that it would be alright. He carried her back to the village and lay her down on her bed. The next morning, Tarin asked Tysva if there was any way that she could become a dragon again. He nodded, grabbed the spell book, and wrote a note to his grandmother with a only a few words on it - Thank you, but now we are flying on our own. They headed into the woods, where Tysva said that he would become a dragon with her. Tysva had reworded the spell, making what was originally a curse just an ordinary spell by removing hateful words and replacing them with honest ones. He said the new spell over Tarin. It was as painful as turning to a human. Tarin looked similar to the way she had before, but one of her eyes remained grey. Tysva then said the spell over himself, and he too became a dragon, though the pain of it caused him to remain unconscious for several hours. Once he was conscious, Tarin had to teach him how to fly. It took him several days to master it, and even then he couldn't fly very far to start. One day, as he was flying, Two dragons came upon them. They were two of the dragons who had bound Tarin when she was exiled. They sent both Tarin and Tysva cashing to the ground, where the other two that had bound Tarin joined in. Two bound Tarin and Tysva in different magics, Tarin's legs stuck with ice and Tysva's wings encased in shadows. The leader of the four went over to Tysva, and realized that he smelt of human. But not just mild scent that comes from being around them, the overbearing scent of human themselves. He smiled, guessing that Tysva had indeed once been a human. He taunted Tysva a bit, and he just sat there and took it, not flinching at any of the leader's intimidation techniques. As the others joined in, Tarin slowly grew more angry at the four dragons that had trapped her and Tysva. Their jeers turned to hitting, but Tysva still didn't flinch nor answer their questions. They finally grew bored of his silence, and the leader strangled him with shadows. Tarin's anger and fury boiled over and she shattered the bonds of ice that held her with her earth magic before setting upon the four dragons. She killed them all with a different method, one with water magic, one with wind, one with earth, and finally the leader, she killed with her claws alone. Once they were dead, Tarin realized what she had done. These four had families, whereas Tarin had been disowned by hers. No one would feel remorse if she were killed in some revenge slaughter, like how she had killed the four. She knew also that if she stayed, then she would end up insane about Tysva. She was eleven. Tarin flew until her wings ached, and even then kept flying until she reached a land called Selzar. She stayed out of clan affairs until she was 16, when she decided that she would join the Furick clan. She has worked her way up the ranks to become the Alphess, actually turning 17 only two weeks before. So, I was right. As long as human activity and such is not related to Selzar then it's fine. This is a greatly made chary and I hope Sangyne comes on soon to pick the mate for her Alpha since the position for Alphess still rests on who Schyzvroen chooses to accept. But for now Tarianna is, ACCEPTED!!! ;] |
