Rykasha was out and about, a common thing for her at this time of day. This time, she was roaming the forest by the lake. The skies were turning grey with clouds and there was a cool wind in the air, heralding another spring rain. Rain had never much bothered her, for it was a calming time, and Ryka often took the opportunity to clear her head. Though it had been a while since Silvera had invited her into the clan and the incident with the Jorthian, Ryka still felt as if she had become Deltess just the day before. It was a different experience after all her years of being on her own, as there was almost always someone to talk to if you wanted to talk. It was like before the humans. The experience that night had shaken Ryka, shown her just how much safer it was to be with friends than on her own. It was hard getting used to being around others again, although it wasn't as if she was giving anything up. She had no family that she was leaving behind, no past memories that had been tied to her old cave, nothing. It was as if she was finally living again. Ryka stopped in a clearing and looked around. Most of the deciduous trees had grown their new leaves, and a a few of them had tiny flower buds. In a few weeks, this place would be carpeted in the petals. Ryka smiled at the thought. She would have to remember this spot for then. High above, the first few drops of rain began to fall, slapping on the green leaves. She turned her head to the sky as the rain began to fall harder. It always felt like the rain was washing all of Ryka's thoughts and past away, leaving her a clean slate. |
