Tarin flew over the land she had called home for many years, seeing it bathed in the pale light of the full moon. It still surprised her how vastly different it was from her old home. There were no humans, only dragons, and not many had asked about her past. The clan that she had joined a bit ago had welcomed her with open wings, and she was steadily working up the ranks. But still, after all this time, a piece of her heart ached with the loss of her friend Tysva, even after all that time. If only he could still be here, see how she had been nominated for the Alphess position.... But he would not want her dwelling on his death. Tarin angled herself for a landing, her clawed feet landing softly in the grasses that carpeted it. A gentle night breeze blew through the valley, making the grasses ripple and move like some great sea. It was beautiful, but Tarin's mind was elsewhere, about five years in the past. Tysva was bound to the ground, his wings encased in a block of hardened shadows. A red dragon stood over him gloating. Well, well, look at the human who wanted to be a dragon. Thinks he's so great because he won't answer our questions. He bent down, meeting Tysva eye to eye. I'll give you one last chance, human. Tell us your name and where your village is, and we might let you live. Tysva simply glared at the red dragon in silence, making it crystal clear that he wouldn't talk. The red dragon sighed and rolled his eyes. Fine then. I didn't want it to come to this, but if you insist on being silent.....The red dragon extended his claw and more shadows pulled away from the trees and wrapped around Tysva's neck. .....then we'll have to settle for screams. Tysva's eyes went wide with fear as the shadows grew thicker and pressed into his scales. He opened his mouth as if to scream, but somehow, using the last bit of his self control, he did not. His eyes went dull and lifeless, and his head hit the ground with a soft thump as his neck went limp. Tarin pulled back to the present, feeling the warm tears on her face. She wiped them away with the side of her claws. The moon above that continued to paint the grasses silver drew her gaze, her eyes locking with it's perfectly round luminous face. It was ironic, the only one who knew exactly what her past held had been killed because he had been a part of it. Now he was a part of the sky that met her each night, one of the stars embedded in that sheet of black velvet. |

Schyzvroen looked at his wings, the wine red almost like blood as it was bathed in moonlight, the above portion a beautiful black. He looked up at the moon, remembering how it had shown the last time he had seen her.. the blood red scales of a dragon whom he had loved, someone he had lost. It ached to remember the last words she had said, to think that he would never see her again. That possibly all his life, the killer would be gotten away with it, while the voices torment him. In this battle- the bad guy had won. Schyzvroen jerked away from the thought, but it reached back and grabbed at him, not letting him go. Laughing at his effort to be freed. He cried out in anguish on the inside. Would it never end? Would his pain never cease? Could he never love again without the fear of hurting them or ripping his own heart out? He was no 'super hero' to anyone. but could he be there to say it was alright? To be there and to hold someone who would hold him back? to love someone who would love him back with the same love? no where to run, no where to hide, because who he was, was where he was. As an Alpha.. even if he was no super hero. He could love again...If he tried. If he really, truly wanted to. He looked up at the sky, the moon shining brightly, he lifted his wings, sweeping them to his side, he pushed off the ground and into the air, wings pivoting in their sockets as he fought gravity and was airborne within seconds. Leveling out, he glided on the warm drafts of the still night air. Watching over the Clan, trying to be something... To have some kind of courage and anchor.. a leverage.... He flew above a Dragoness below. His eyes averting to her, he could see the way she lifted her claws to wipe away a tear... Or what he thought of as. He circled above, slowly lowering down, he landed not to far from behind her, letting her have her space for the time being until she knew he was there, or until she looked to him and gave him an okay to come forward... any kind of Sign. |

Tarin turned as she heard wingbeats echoing in the night. It was a dragon with black scales and red wings, the moon making them look a blood red. Tarin had seen him before, but couldn't remember exactly at that moment. He landed in the grass somewhat behind her, a far enough distance so that he wouldn't be impeding on a personal moment, but near enough so that he could see if she wanted him to come closer. She smiled at him, remembering at that moment that he was the Alpha. Talking to someone right now would be nice. It might help her forget Tysva's death for a bit. Another breeze wound trough the valley and the grasses swayed again, making waves once more in the silver sea. Tarin gestured for him to come over, just in case the smile hadn't been enough to let him know. |

Schyzvroen looked at her, seeing her smile, but guessing something was wrong. He walked up to her as she motioned that it was okay. He sat down beside her, looking at her he looked away, then back. Edgy. slightly. He kept his wings tucked close. He looked spoke, his words stronger then what he had expected for them to come out, Hello tarin. He recognized her, her eyes. Something he had gotten good at when remembering the different Clan dragons- the eyes. Each one held something different. some sympathy, others rage, some fright, some pain... It helped to define. |

Tarin smiled again as Schyz came next to her. Hi Schyz. It's a pretty night, isn't it? She noticed that he seemed a little on edge, just a bit jumpy, his eyes moving constantly. She folded her wings close to her so that he would have more room. She noticed him looking at her eyes, and she saw his. Such a deep red, the color of blood... So filled with the sorrow and hurt of losing someone. The same look Tysva had when he remembered Yvanne. The same look she knew lay in her eyes when she remembered Tysva. |

Schyzvroen nodded, It is.. He looked down, feeling that Tarin seemed to understand alittle more about him that what was put out. Maybe not entirley, but something much more deeper. He lifted his head, looked up at the moon, the lid of his eye blinking as he was more relaxed then he had been in days. He looked back to Tarin, trying to keep from eye contact, but her eyes drew him, and he could not avoid them. No matter how hard he tried. He gave a somewhat weak- but unbelievable smile. He wasn't used to the feeling he had at this point- he'd only felt something like it before once.. but now he was drenched in fear and it made the feeling different. |

Tarin looked at the moon as Schyz agreed that it was a beautiful night. But her eyes kept being drawn to his. She knew much lay hidden beneath their crimson surface, but she couldn't read it all. There was so very much hidden beneath the closely guarded exterior, locked away until someone could find the key to open him up. She flicked her eyes away and looked at the ground beneath her claws. She hadn't quite felt this way before.... It felt like when she was with Tysva, only... more, better somehow. She noticed his smile, how it didn't quite reach his eyes. Is something bothering you? Her voice was curious, but concern could easily be heard underneath. |

Schyzvroen looked at her this time not looking away. He hadn't had someone ever ask if soemthing was bothering him, maybe once, but he didn't remember. The smile faded away... He spoke with caution, his words chosen with care, I...Am afraid... Afriad to have love again. A lump formed in the back of his throat, making it hard to speak, making him want to cry. He faught back at it and won over. No tears spilling, but his voiced cracked when he spoke, showing signs. He shook his head slightly from side to side and looked back to Tarin, Its...hard...sometimes to think... He went silent. |

Tarin watched as Schyz's smile faded. I...Am afraid... Afraid to have love again. Tarin saw his eyes shine with unshed tears and heard his voice crack. Its...hard...sometimes to think... Tarin carefully lay a reassuring wing over him and smiled, a gentle, understanding smile. Love isn't a thing to be feared. I think you know that already. Whatever happened.... I doubt that it was your fault. Something tells me that whoever she was, she would want you to be happy, not afraid. But only you can decide whether or not you're ready to love again. Only your heart will tell you when you're ready, so listen to it instead of your head sometime. |

Schyzvroen nodded, Its not a lie, and I will agree with you. He raised his head, not looking away from Tarin he continued, I do want to love again... And I know why. Courage was a strange thing. It seemed to drag you down when you needed it most. Like, summoning up courage, it was of no gain when you were to afraid. Like the icy claws of death, pinning you as it breathes in your soul.. The kiss of Death. |

Tarin smiled when Schyz nodded. Its not a lie, and I will agree with you.She met his crimson gaze with her mismatched one. I do want to love again... And I know why. Tarin smiled and slid a bit closer to Schyz. I think... I feel the same way. Her heart was fluttering like a bird, but she felt so at ease with him. It was so odd, yet so right and wonderful. She didn't want it to end, not now, not ever. |

Schyzvroen gave a true smile this time. Knowng she understood, he placed a wing over her and nuzzled her neck. His eyes hiding the sorrow deep down, but always there. At this point he was happy. Happy because he was in love for the second time in his life. Happy..Because he was not alone. The moon shown down and he looked at Tarin, Moonlight, Makes you shine. He could tell it, the way the moon made her scales bright, like dancing stars.. |

Tarin smiled as Schyz lay his wing over her and nuzzled her neck. She snuggled into him, noticing the fine red scars that laced over his black scales. They looked like the fine web of cracks that appeared in a cracked pane of glass, the way they seemed to hold the light that hit them, as if they were lit gently from within. His eyes shone the same way, catching the light and seeming to glow faintly. Moonlight, Makes you shine. Tarin smiled again and gave him a gentle lick on the side of his neck. It makes your scales glow too, just like your eyes. |

Schyzvroen Smiled and closed his eyes gently, placing his head under her lower jaw in a hugish like fashion. A faint smile resting on his jaws. He gave a low hum and said, I love you Tarianna. It took courage to say it, but he felt he could tell her anything. That he could open to her and know that she would stand by him through thick and thin and that she would never hurt him. He felt he could be who he was around her. |

Tarin smiled again as he placed his head beneath her lower jaw. She leaned up against him, feeling the warmth of his scales on her own. He gave a low hum and told her that he loved her. She smiled and nuzzled his neck gently. I love you too, Schyzvroen. They understood each other, as if their very souls were on the same wavelength. It seemed they had been made for each other and she knew that'd she'd always be there for him, and he for her. |

Schyzvroen smiled, feeling butterflies, he let them go away, Fly away and don't return. His tail curled around in a 'C' shape around Tarin. He was happy for the first time in days. After being accepted as Alpha- And going through a alot of crap from the members because he was not full blood Furick- He felt that the weight on his shoulders was gone. Complete, whole. Ironically- Better then he had felt when he was with Sangyne. Voices were silenced as he forced them away, Tarin his light in the dark. Forever and Always. |

Tarin felt him curl his tail around her, and she rubbed against him lovingly, another smile bubbling to the surface. The butterflies were gone, only the feeling of happiness and love remained. She didn't want to spend a day without him. The sorrow of her past, her exile, Tysva, all of it melted away into what it was - the past. Here and now was all that mattered, being here with him. She wanted it to never end, to be with him now and always. For ever and ever. |

Schyzvroen nuzzled her, I'll never leave you my love. And he meant what he said. Lifting his head he looked up at the moon and stars. Only Memory would preserve this moment. Looking back to Tarin, he smiled, and this time, it was a warm loving smile. The heart ache buried deep below everything. {haha and now... I'm out of ideas. :/ } |
