Keita sat by the shores of the Selicarian Lake, watching the water lap against the rocks. Sighing, she turned her eyes to the cloudless blue sky above, and let the thoughts she had stifled for so long rise to the top of her mind. Why? Why was I left in the desert? I mean, yeah, my family is great, but.... Why did my blood parents leave me? I realize that it was probably for the better, but I wish I knew. She shut her eyes as a breeze rippled over the lake. I wonder if I had any brothers or sisters. Ah well. If I really wanted to find them, I would be searching, not wondering. Keita opened her eyes and looked back at the water. But would I like what I find? Sighing again, Keita lifted a stone from the ground with her tail and threw it into the air. Timing her swing, she whacked the stone with the flat of her tail, sending it skipping out over the lake. She smiled and lifted another stone. May as well have fun where I am now at least. She repeated her actions, sending another stone spinning over the water's smooth surface.
