This was his first time out of the forest, well not really the first time, but this was the first time he ectually planned to leave the forest and enter the territory of the clanless dragons. A dragon hotspot if you will. He'd never dared enter these lands before but instinct finally nudged him into the open. He was a young Adult now he was becoming to big to comfortably live in the forest. He hesistantly snaked his head and neck out of the trees. His blue tounge flicking in and out like that of a snake, tasting the air. He finally moved from the forest that had been his home for years now. It felt sort of strange leaving it behind. The kind of unease you feel when you shed your skin. That right, it felt naked. His ears twitched and he looked around curiously, trying to decide on his next destination. The sound of water caught his ears and he swung his head into that direction. Zero wasn't exacly a big dragon, just 19 feet from nose to tail with a wingspan just large enough to allow for brief moments of flight. He preffered using termals to glide rather then having to exhaust himself by franticly flapping the, in his opinion, to small wings to stay airborne. It was probably mainly a mental issue then a physical one as his wingspan still should allow a decent flight. He probably was to scared to really fly, what with all the traumatic experiences regarding flight. And so rather then flying he ran on his four strong legs, faster on the ground then most dragons were, then again he had a lot more practice. He probably couldn't outrun a flying dragon though. He finally reached the water, well waterfalls really. He craned his neck to have a better look at them, even going as far as to sit on his haunches and lift himself on his backlegs to get a better look. He'd never seen water falling like that before, the sound it made was almost deafening. He took a few steps forward, the ground going soft under his claws causing him to tear his gaze from the water and down to what he was walking on. Soft moss, the same color as his scales. He tested it a little, shifting his weight and crooned a little in delight before moving to the rivers edge to have a look at himself. He tilted his head questionably, he remembered having blue parts on his body but they'd always been sky blue, yet as he stared at his own reflection, the scales had gone a deep beautifull sapphire. It was quite a strange experience, he barily recognised himself. It probably had something to do with that strange need to leave the forest. He shook his head a little to shake the thought away and dipped his head down, drinking greedily from the cold water. |

A little sand brown dragon had claimed a small spot near the lake. He had been there for…about an hour or 3 napping. He would wake up every now and then only to sniff the air before lying down and dozing off again. Turning and rolling in his sleep as he kept his wings close to him for warmth. Oh how did he enjoy sleeping at day time. It felt so satisfying. As he turned over once more his ears twisted lightly. He had heard something. With a stifled yawn he stretched out before opening his emerald eyes. What did he just heard? He thought to himself as he sniffed the air. His eyes widening a little, there was another dragon near! He moved his head up to perk around. There! Near the water was a larger dragon, moss from colour with sapphire blue scales. He was in trouble now. This was just what he needed, something that might take him out. He was so much bigger and muscular! A little bit distressed he jumped onto his paws while trying to remain with a low profile, maybe he could just sneak away. |
