Name: Levionna Nickname: Levi (pronounced Leh-Vee, not Lee-Vy) Dragon type: Eastern Age: 16 Gender: Female Clan: Bahiri Position: Lead Scout Magic (Strength) Water: Mastered Wind: Mastered Ice: Strong Healing: Average Appearance: The scales on Levi’s back and sides are a dark sea blue color. The scales on her underside are much paler, creating a sort of natural camouflage in water. However, she is highly noticeable on land. She has white spiral markings on her sides, resembling breaking waves. Her nose is similar to that of a lion’s and is colored black. Her eyes are a green color and are very hard to “read”. They often acquire a brown tint towards wintertime. A mane of thick, dark navy-colored fur surrounds her head. A line of similarly colored fur runs down her spine, ending in a tuft. She has deep blue fin-like ears that poke out from her mane, just before a set of three small horns. They are shaped like flat teardrops, more of small natural blades than horns and are colored like seashells. Blue membrane stretches between them and between her ivory talons. Many scars crisscross around her legs, looking like tangled white cobwebs. On the sides of her neck, mostly hidden by her mane, are two pink sets of gills that open when she submerges them in water. Her teeth are pointed and white, and slightly resemble fish teeth. She is 27 feet tall and 110 feet long, a majority of her height being her neck. Personality: Levi acts somewhat emotionless to strangers, letting them see none of her emotions until she knows them better, knows how they will react to scenarios. She can read people and their intentions quite well and seems to have a way of getting along with animals. Due to this, she often prefers to eat fruit. She also asks forgiveness before killing something, be it for hunting or personal vengeance. Once she gets to know people, she shows her true self, a very kind and gentle soul. There are days where it seems as if she cannot feel nor show emotion at all, and other days were she just has to be alone for her own and others’ sakes. If something is on her mind, she must be pressured to get her to tell someone about it, and even then, she will probably only tell a portion of what is affecting her. Levi has quite the temper and can go off on people if she thinks they are being just totally stupid or clueless. She will strongly stand up for what she believes in and isn’t afraid to yell at people for their lack of common sense. She is often much more wary on land, as her sight and hearing are both hindered slightly, just enough to make her squint to see any distance greater than 40 feet or so clearly. Due to this, she prefers to run or swim to get to places, choosing only to fly if the weather is very calm. She enjoys swimming and is thankful that she has the ability to breathe underwater, so that she can look at the coral formations of the Bahiri reef. Levi is fine when she’s alone and away from others, but can cooperate in a group if necessary. History: Levi was born with three sisters on a medium sized island that was dominated by a single clan. Her parents were on the outskirts of the clan, as many found them odd, since they were the only dragons on the island that had both gills and lungs, the others having to use their magic to breath underwater. As water was a very common element, Levi’s parents taught her and her sisters Water magic even before the Wind magic that would be vital to flight. Levi showed great skill in this, almost as if she had been born knowing exactly how to handle the water. The only clan member that Levi knew was a close friend of the family, Zephran. He was the only other dragon on the island that knew nothing of water magic, only healing and ice. He was often the main source of news from the clan, since most of the dragons would not talk to Levi or her family. Levi was quite content with her life, learning and practicing her magic, swimming, and running around the island. But then came the Storm. One summer when Levi was 5, a hurricane swept over the entire island. Most of the clan members were safe in their dens, but Levi’s family was not nearly so lucky. Their parents had been out hunting, trying to get food for them to eat later on, but the storm came early. The den flooded and Levi and her sisters were swept out to sea. Levi managed to swim until she found the remains of a tree and hold on. She called out her sister’s and her parents names until she had gone hoarse, and she kept trying to reach them until she passed out. Somehow the waves didn’t shake her off the log or dash her body against the rocks, and she drifted to shore. When she at last awoke, she saw that she was in Zephran’s den. Confused, she asked him where her family was. He looked away and shook his head. Levi understood the gesture all too well, and knew that her family, her mother and father, her sisters…. they were gone, probably forever. But she didn’t cry, the shock canceled out the grief. Instead, she asked Zephran if she could live with him, and if he could teach her the magic he knew. He agreed, and became her Mentor. He taught her all he knew about magic and hunting. She caught on fast, and they moved to social skills. He taught her to not show emotions until she knew true intention, as showing your how upset you were to someone who wanted to break you only broke yourself. Levi left Zephran’s care when she was 9, thanking him for everything. She went to live in her family’s old cave, and four years after the incident that took them, Levi cried for them. Not out of grief, but because she couldn’t grieve them. Because she knew someone had died, and it was what you were supposed to do. Because she knew she’d have to leave the island someday. A year later, the word was spread across the entire island that Zephran had died, had been murdered in his sleep. Levi wept for him, in grief this time, and knew she would have to find his killer and take payment. Later on that day, a dragon came and visited her. His name was Ocylion, and he was much older than her. He had heard that she had been one of Zephran’s close friends, and wanted to offer his sympathy. He offered for her to stay in an empty cave near his, closer to the clan and further away from Zephran’s death. When Levi refused, he held a blade of energy to her throat and insisted that she come with him. Leevi agreed, hoping that she would be able to escape later. Ocylion held her in his almost constant sight though, and escape was nearly impossible. He was uncaring to her, and even told her flat out to her face that she was only there to be used as a tool for his plan later on. He trained her in fighting, and when she did not perform a skill correctly, he would put strips of energy in front of her cave entrance. This continued for another year and a half. One day, instead of training, Ocylion told her that he had an assignment for her. He said that she was to kill the Alphas of the clan as they slept. When Levi refused, he held another blade of energy to her throat. She agreed again, knowing that refusing would only get her killed. That night, she murdered them both with her Water and Ice magic, with Ocylion watching nearby to be sure that she had commited the deed. She was 13. About a week later, Ocylion told her that they were now going to kill the Beta and held the blade at her throat again. She agreed, but formulated a plan to get the both of them caught, so she would no longer have to do his bidding. Just before she was going to kill the Beta, she kicked a rock and woke him up. She managed to flee the cave before he fully awoke, but he did manage to see Levi and Ocylion heading to their caves. Suspicion began to grow as people began to connect Ocylion to the murders of both Zephran and the Alphas, many suspecting that he used Levi as a puppet, but none totally sure, since she was of the odd family. Once pressure grew high enough, Ocylion decided that there was only one thing to do. And so, he accused Levi of the murders, saying that the marks had looked like Ice magic, and that she had asked him to kill Zephran, wanting to be the only dragon who knew Ice magic on the isle. She then moved on to the Alphas and the other ranking members, wanting to be Alphess herself. Levi denied these claims, but to most, Ocylion’s claims held firmer than Levi’s story. Levi was sentenced to exile and for her feet to be scarred, a reminder of how she murdered by casing her paws in ice and tearing out the throats. She didn’t protest, knowing that if she did, then she would only receive harsher punishment. Her paws were sliced with alternating bolts of lightning and darkness and left unhealed. Once she began walking out of the clan, she healed them, when no one could see. Ocylion followed her, wanting to gloat at how he had gotten away scot-free. When Ocylion caught up to Levi and began to gloat, she took this oppritunity when his guard was lowered and encased one of her paws in a razor sharp glove of ice She whirled about and sliced his windpipe open. As he struggled to take his last breath, Levi dismantled the ice around her paw and watched, with no emotion. Just before he died, she whispered the words “Now I regret nothing” in his ear. Once he died, Levi turned and walked towards the edge of the island to the cliffs. And she smiled a true smile for the first time in a long, long time. Once she reached the cliffs, she took off and flew, hoping that she could escape the bloody waters of her own home island. She landed on Selzar, near the western shores of the Bahiri clan. Levi saw that they were much different than her own clan, much more open. She joined the clan as a scout, and worked her way up to become the lead scout just recently. Picture: None right now Other: To help counteract her slightly hindered sight and hearing when she is on land, Levi has developed an ability to faintly feel the vibrations of the ground. This vibration sensing is what lets Levi know if any trees are in her way before she hits them. Due to her preference of running, she can run at a slightly faster speed than most dragons, but flies much slower. Like other dragons of the Bahiri clan, Levi can breathe underwater, but when she surfaces from the water, it takes her a moment or two to switch her breathing from her gills to her lungs. |
