Name: Acerus Dragon Type: Western European Age: 24 Gender: Male Clan: Bahiri Clan position desired: Science Guy Desired Magic: Fire: Mastered Water: Mastered Ice: Mastered Earth: Mastered Appearance: Acerus is an average sized dragon. He is 27 feet tall, 42 feet long, with a wingspan of 86 feet. His proportions and muscle mass is more similar to a non-aquatic dragon. He is slightly stronger and larger than most Bahiri dragons, but he is not as agile in the water. However, his larger muscles allow him to bull his way through almost any current, including riptides, and he still posses the gills and webbing of his fellow clan members. His scales are a dark midnight blue, with black wing membranes, forearms, feet, and back spikes. The scales of his underbelly are still dark blue, but lighter than the rest of his body. His eyes are a dark maroon, and seem to glow with a hint of insanity. He has several scars, one across his left eye (though he is not blind on his left eye), one across his right shoulder, and three long ones down his chest and upper belly, souvenirs of his travels. Personality: Acerus is a misanthropic, pessimistic, clever, highly intelligent, magnificent bastard of a dragon. He has little patience for stupidity or clumsiness, can be easily annoyed, and sometimes takes a sick pleasure out of watching other creatures squirm physically or mentally, but in reality, he's usually just bored. He usually less caustic to the few friends he has, but even that isn't a guarantee. He used to travel across the land, many times staying in human town. As a result, he's gained a great knowledge of humans, as well as a great deal about the natural world and life, having devoted most of his 24 years to studying the natural world around him. He spends most of his time aloof, off doing his own thing, whether it be experimenting with minerals, dissecting an frog, or drawing sketches of fish on slabs of rock. He angers easily, and is prone to violence when he is angry. He usually minds his own business, but he goes wherever he wants, and if someone tries to challenge him, he usually sneers them off or leaves bloody gashes on their faces. History: Acerus was born to a mother in the Bahiri clan and a father who was an outsider to the clan (who later became a clan member). This explains his slightly different proportions to his clan members. At a very early age, his parents saw that their son was very inquisitive of the world around him, and was constantly asking questions about this or that. As he grew, he asked increasingly difficult questions. Eventually, his parents could not give him an answer, to his bitter disappointment. He resented his parents for their ignorance, and went about asking other dragons those same difficult questions. He received no better. Some gave him far-fetched and unsatisfactory answers of spirits or gods, but most just didn't know. His resentment grew as he asked more and more. It was then, at the age of 14, that Acerus realized that he was the only one who asked these questions, that the dragons of his clan took the world around them for granted. His resentment vanished, and was replaced by an urge to find answers to these questions. He spent the years until his adulthood exploring the island of Selzar as much as he could, much to the exasperation of his parents, who had to follow him around and make sure he didn't get in trouble. When he turned 16, and became an adult, he bade his parents and what few friends he had farewell, and left Selzar to explore as much of the world as he could. During his travels he saw a great many wondrous things, from rain forests of the equator, to the auroras of the far north. He also learned of humans, encountering several towns. It was through these encounters that Acerus learned the name of what he had been doing; observation, research, experimentation. Science. Whenever he could, he asked to study with whatever scientists he could find, many of them brilliant beings. It was with these studies that he learned many of the more complex facets of the natural world, such as physics, biology, astronomy, mathematics, and geology, to name a few. He learned that he was living on a massive spherical chunk of rock floating through space. He learned that all life was based on microscopic cells. He learned how and why things move the way they did. Eventually at the age of 23, he decided to return to his home and share his knowledge. To his disappointment and resentment, he found that no one was willing to listen to him. They all said he was insane, that he was a crazy dragon with crackpot theories of the world. He grew distant from most of clan society, and now carries out his experiments and research alone. Picture: (Not requires but is recommended) Other: Having preformed many dissections and experiments involving exact amounts of ingredients, Acerus has a very fine control of his front paws and the individual fingers on them, much more than most dragons.
