Young Adult Dragon

The sun was barely peeking out of the horizon. Shadows of the night covered everything completely still. The air was cool, even for a desert, but it felt good against her skin and the feathers of her wings and the back of her head. Archimedes layed there in a nest she made from the sand and earth around her. The clan had accepted her into their ranks but she still didn’t trust herself. So when everyone else went to their dens to sleep, Arch flew off to sleep away from the others. She didn’t fly far but far enough so nothing would happen. She knew no one would see or follow her because of her midnight blue scales and the shadows of the night concealed her. When she opened her eyes and picked up her head off of her tail that was curled around her body. She blinked a couple of times to get out the blurriness of her dark blue eye. She yawned, her mouth wide open showing the rows of very sharp, pointed teeth. She got up, slowly stretching her cramped legs and folded out her wings, stretching them toward the sky, showing rows and rows of multicolored feathers. Then she folded them against her body and thought It’s going to be a good day, especially for a swim. Since she didn’t know if there were any good swimming places around, she closed her eyes and focused on the earth, asking it to help her guide her to a lake. When she opened her eyes, she unfolded her wings, feeling the wind brush against her wings. Then she crouched low to the ground, the sand going between her toes, and leaped into the sky. She noticed that the wind was not strong enough to carry her, so she made the wing stronger. She went in the direction the earth told her to go and followed the scent of the water that was in the air. The sun continued to creep into the sky. Its light replacing the shadows that covered the desert, and also replacing the almost black scales with blue ones. She started to worry if anyone had seen her fly away but she continued on. When she finally came to a body of water, she had been flying for about half an hour. She felt relieved when she landed at the shore. When the sun rose earlier and set, it beat on her scales, making her hot and pant. So when she stepped into the lake, the water felt refreshing. She dove under the water, staying submerged for a few seconds and broke the surface when she came back up. For a clan that lives in the desert, the sure do have a wonderful place to swim, she thought. She swam around a bit, then moved her wings to the lakes surface, treading them so she would stay afloat. She put her head in the water as to were her lower jaw was underwater and the upper jaw, along with her nostrils was above. Then she closed her eyes, basking in the sun to stay warm while cooling off in the water of the lake at the same time. This was a good starting day for her. She didn’t have to worry about anything happening, she could just relax and enjoy this time she had to herself. Edited by Valamuraka, Feb 4 2010, 05:26 PM.

Damn that was close. Nozdormu head to Logara Lake only source of water in desert. Beating his wings as fastest he can. His blue scales on his back were coverd by blood. How can i be soon mindless. From a little trip out of clan lands almost cost him a life. A black dragon who attacked him was badly injured too but he wasn´t able fly after the fight so Nozdormu just only need get water to clean his wounds and heal them. But in the dark was very hard to find a right direction and for newcomer almost impossible. If Cobra or Calyptic find out what happend they will be mad. He starts loosing speed. Wound wasn´t so bad but the fight and the flight were exhaustive. Finally he saw something else then sand. When he was close a new energy appear in his body. Lake, right on time. He start slide on the wind and slowly land on bank. Then he walk in to lake and start drink water to quench thirst. Mean time the water clean the wound. Nozdormu walked out of the water and he touched the wound with his snout, starting heal the wound, all the time his right wing was little stretched. When he finished he fall down and start resting. The sunrise show him that he isn´t the only dragon near the lake. Someone was swiming in the lake. Who is he ? |

As Arch continued to float atop the surface of the lake, she continued to bask in the warmth of the sun. When she arrived at the lake, no one was there and when she dove into the lake and rested, still no one had appeared. She had been there for little over an hour, when she caught the scent of blood. She opened her eyes and lifted her head out of the water. Then she saw something in the sky. A blue dragon was flying above, but he was covered in blood. I wonder what happened, she thought. That blood may be on him, but it surely isn't his of that I'm sure. She took a wif of the air and noticed that the blood indeed wasn't his. She put her head back down with her left eye open as he landed on the bank and took a drink of water. She noticed that he had wounds but when he was done drinking, he got out of the water then placed his maw in the water and it had cleaned the wounds. So he is a healer? she thought to herself. When he was apparently done healing himself, he ploped down on the bank. When the sun was high above, the light had shone on her scales, revealing her in the water. Great she thought and just when I thought that I had the lake to myself. She was afraid when she saw this dragon land. She had no idea if anything would happen while he was here. But she knew that she had to get over her fear of this and get it done and overwith quickly. So she took a deep breath, lowered her wings into the water and pushed herself with her tail towards the bank. She got out of the water a few yards away from the male and tried to get rid of the water in her wings as best as she could, then she folded them back to her sides. She looked at him with curiosity. She hasnt been around a male since she left her brother when she left her clan. She took a few cautious steps foward, trying to find her voice. Then she said, He..Hello. she stammered. She didnt know what to do now that she had started a conversation. Normally she would shoo off others if she didnt want to be bothered but this time it was different. |

The dragon came out of the water and to him. When he hear her voice he realize that she is female. He stand up and bow. Good day to you. Hope i dind´t interrupted you. He said and look at her closly. She was little uncertain as he can see. But his intention gat her scales. Wow those scales are cool. Oh sorry i don´t introduce. My name is Nozdormu i´am new healer at your service. Your are newcommer too ? I don´t see you before. He look around then to her. May i ask you for something ? Please don´t tell Cobra or Calyptic that you see me wounded. He look at sunrise. Damn i almost don´t sleep tonight. Open fully his mouth and yawn came out. Opss sorry. I´am a little bit tired from that incident. What happend little creeps him when he relize fully it. He shaked his head to get that out. And for distraction he roll over to side. But there were a stone and he notice him when he was roll over him. Owowo i´am jerk. He stretch his back. Then he little smiled. Thats embarrassing and before female. |

When Arch said hello, the male dragon stood up and bowed saying Good day to you. Hope i dind´t interrupted you and looked at her closely. She took a small step back. Oh sorry i don´t introduce. My name is Nozdormu i´am new healer at your service. Your are newcommer too ? I don´t see you before. Nozdormu? What kind of name is that?she thought. Well, might as well be polite. My name is Archimedes or Arch for short. And I kind of figured that you were a healer when you healed your wounds. As for being new, yes, I am. I just joined a few days ago. Then he asked her something. About not telling Cobra or Calyptic that she had seen him wounded. So I guess those two are the Alphas. And you dont have to worry about me saying anything, I wont.Then Nozdormu took a big yawn. Opss sorry. I´am a little bit tired from that incident. She only nodded her head. She would be cranky if something like that happened to her and she didnt get any sleep. Then all of a sudden he was shaking his head. Huh? she thought again. Then he rolled over, she saw the rock and tried to warn him before he rolled over it but he already landed on it. He then stretched out his back and smiled a little. She also gave a little smile. This dragon was a little weird to her, but she didnt care. Maybe they could be friends. So... she started. What exactly happened to you? she asked. |

Nice to meet you Arch. I should control what i do, it look like she don´t talk to others. Well i´am the healer but i fear i´am the only one for this clan. Arch aswer pleased him. Thank you, and yes they are. A one less thing to worry about. After his try forgot about that incident and closely met whit rocks he said. I try forgot all about it. Its show how big dumb i´am for now. I want hunt something so i went out of the clan lands. After i hunt something and eat it a red dragon i spotted near. I thougt he isn´t danger so i was relaxing. Nozdormu made a pause, and take breath. He start move towards to me. I thougt he want just talk, so i stand up and wait for him. But i don´t even ahve a chance to do something and he attack me. He look at his back to place where he was wounded. I keep my head cool and defend my self and kill him but i get wounded and tired of that. A much bigger problem was that i forgot way back, and all that sand confused me, so i have luck that i get here. He ended his story. I was my fault all that, should be more carefull. I´am still yong and dumb. he sigh. |

When Arch introduced herself, he said it was nice to meet you. Then he said Well i´am the healer but I fear I am the only one for this clan when she asked if he was a healer. It seemed that he didn’t know that she too was a healer for the clan. Well, you don’t have to worry about being the only healer of the clan anymore because when I joined, I asked if I could be a healer since I am so used to healing others often. When he told her not to tell the Alphas what had happened to him and she agreed then asked if they were the Alphas since she didn’t know their names he replied Thank you, and yes they are. A one less thing to worry about. She smiled slightly. This male apparently doesn’t want to get into any trouble with the leaders and he was stressed over it she thought. Then he continued saying I try forgot all about it. Its show how big dumb I am for now. I want hunt something so I went out of the clan lands. After i hunt something and eat it a red dragon I spotted near. I thought he isn’t danger so I was relaxing. She shook her head disagreement when he said that he was dumb. Your not dumb Nozdormu, you’re just young plus you were hungry and you let your defenses drop, nothing no one hasn’t done before. As she said it, she realized that she had no idea what she was talking about. Since she was young she never let her defenses drop due to the fact that her parents beat her constantly so she was always aware of everything around her. The only and last time her defenses dropped was when she was attacked by another dragon and in the end caused her left eye to go blind since then she never let her defenses slip, not even a bit. Nozdormu took a big breath and continued his story. He start move towards to me. I thought he want just talk, so I stand up and wait for him. But I don´t even have a chance to do something and he attack me. He look at his back to place where he was wounded. I keep my head cool and defend my self and kill him but I get wounded and tired of that. A much bigger problem was that i forgot way back, and all that sand confused me, so I have luck that I get here. So he ended up killing the other just to protect himself? No wonder he doesn’t want the Alphas to know. You did what you had to to survive, you had no other choice. I think the leaders will understand if they ever find out. It was my fault all that, should be more careful. I am still young and dumb and he sighed again. I have to agree with you at being more careful but like I said before you are still young and you have a lot to learn. I learned that the hard way when I was younger. Ever since then I never dropped my guard and never trusted anyone that I didn’t know.
