Name: Brioe Nickname: Bri (pronounced as in tri, not bree) Dragon Type: Wyvern Age: 19 Gender: Female Clan: Juthivar Clan position desired: Normal Member Desired Magic: Earth: Mastered Fire: Very Strong Wind: Strong Appearance: Brioe is covered in hundreds and hundreds of miniature, dark green scales that are very smooth, and since they are so small, it almost looks as if she has simply smooth skin. However, despite their size, the scales still give her more protection than normal skin. She has long, silvery white horns that branch off several times, like the horns of deer. She also has very hard, diamond-shaped scale plates on her underside that are a pearly white. Her claws are sharp and the same color as the plates on her underside. Sprouting from her forehead and continuing down her spine, ending in a tuft on the tip of her tail, she bears deep blue fur lining her back. Her wings are a bit large, being very strong from flying around so much, and they have a deep blue membrane flecked with gold on the edges. She has deep purple eyes. She is 23 feet tall, has a length of 46 feet, and has a large wingspan of 98 feet. Personality: Brioe is normally very quiet and enjoys just walking on her own in a forest, next to a lake, flying in the sky, or anywhere that she is sure she will be alone, which at these times she likes to reflect on things. She enjoys swimming and can hold her breath for a while under the water, and she likes to dive down as deep as she can and see how far she can go down, or how long she can hold her breath for. She's a bit daring up in the sky, attempting many kinds of tricks when no one's looking. Being very shy around other dragons, she usually would stop these tricks when someone's flying with her. She is very shy around new people and can easily be intimidated, but when she gets to know other dragons, she becomes the energetic, brave, friendly, occasionally impatient dragon that she is when no one's looking. History: Brioe was born in the Furick Range, although she was not part of the Furick clan. Her mother was named Cyu, her father Dzkal. They lived a ways away from the Furick Clan, and although her parents knew of it, they did not want to join it, saying that they were much better off on their own. Brioe had no siblings of her own, but when she was five, she met a young dragon about her age named Folyff. Folyff was a young dragon with light blue scales, and was as energetic and daring as Brioe was then. They became fast friends, and soon they were spending nearly every day together. One day, when they were twelve years old, they went out exploring together. Despite Brioe wondering if they should tell their parents about it, since they always told their parents beforehand, Folyff shook the worries off, saying to her boldly that they had grown up, and they didn't need to depend on their parents for protection anymore, so if Brioe wanted to prove her bravery, she would have to go with Folyff without being watched over by their parents. Brioe, sure that she wanted to prove to Folyff that she was as brave as him, agreed immediately after he explained why they weren't telling their parents. They both ventured out farther than they had gone before, and when it began to get dark, Folyff kept up Brioe's spirits by telling her that they were going to prove to their parents that they were strong and didn't need their parents' help. But Brioe was becoming worried about something: Her parents had always told her that very bad creatures came out in the nighttime, and she was scared to see if they were real. Folyff merely shrugged and said that he was sure there weren't any bad creatures, and they kept going. But they had heard something behind them, and Brioe turned to see a huge red dragon standing behind them. It roared with fury, and Brioe was more scared than she'd ever been in her whole life. She turned and ran, seeing Folyff running faster than her, through the forest. But as they fled, the red dragon got even angrier, running after them at a much faster speed. When the red dragon had almost caught up to Brioe, she had thought in panic that all was lost, but they burst out of the forest just in time. But what they were heading for was a sheer cliff. However, Brioe had thought out what she was going to do. Quickly, she stopped and flattened herself against the ground. The red dragon, pouncing for her, sailed over her head and off the cliff. The two of them, Brioe and Folyff, stared at the cliff edge, hardly believing their luck. But the red dragon easily rose up on his huge wings again, and before Folyff could finish his leap towards the much larger dragon, the earth erupted, and out shot a tendril of earth, wrapping around Folyff's waist and making him crash to the ground. The red dragon proceeded to draw back his head, as if preparing for something, and blast a huge torrent of fire towards the now helpless Folyff. But Brioe barred the inferno's way. Emitting a snarl, she called upon her wind magic and deflected the fire easily. But the fire, now under the influence of the red dragon's fire magic, it easily turned around and came back, looping around them and encasing them in fire. But then, the tendril of earth around Folyff disappeared, since the red dragon, with all his power, could only control a single magic at a time. Folyff leaped up, and without a moment's hesitation, dived through the flames. They touched and seared his body, but he seemed not to care, opening his wings and flying up to attack the red dragon furiously. The fiery prison around Brioe disappeared, the red dragon beginning to use wind magic to create razor-sharp winds to cut up Folyff's wings. Foylff, unable to fly, landed on the ground, burns covering his body from when he leaped through the flames. But he still stood there, between the red dragon and Brioe. In a whisper, seemingly to himself, he muttered under his breath that he was going to prove that he was strong... by killing the red dragon. Brioe's eyes widened as he leaped into the air again, biting onto the red dragon's leg. The red dragon attacked him angrily, but Folyff didn't let go. Suddenly, Brioe heard the flapping of wings. She turned to see her parents and Folyff's parents flying quickly towards them. With renewed courage, Folyff attacked the dragon again, but the red dragon swung his tail towards himself and slammed it into the small blue dragon. Folyff, all of his strength lost, fell. But his mother swooped down and grabbed him in her talons, saving him from falling from above the sheer cliff. Both fathers went for the red dragon, attacking him. The red dragon, seeming to realize that the battle had turned in their favor, began to fly away. But he quickly turned around and flew straight past the parents and higher up, using his earth magic on a cliff above them to make it explode into huge boulders that fell towards them, above Brioe. Brioe was frozen in fear, but did not close her eyes to wait until she was crushed. Then something happened that made her wish that she had closed her eyes very tightly. Her mother flew above her at the last second, and Brioe watched in terror as her mother was crushed by the onslaught of huge rocks. Watching all of the dragons, the red dragon took advantage of their shock by going for Folyff, still in the clutches of his mother's claws. Folyff's father, however, attacked him from the side, roaring in fury. But the red dragon merely turned, and using his wind magic, slit his opponent's throat with a slice of wind. Folyff's father fell, lifeless. Folyff's mother screamed. She turned, and started to fly away, but the red dragon stopped her. Grabbing both her wings, he tore the membrane, making her begin to fall as well. Folyff, however, squirmed out of his mother's grip and jumped onto the red dragon's back. Before the red dragon could react, he climbed up his neck at lightning speed, and just as the dragon turned to tear him off his neck, Folyff leaned over and sunk his teeth into the underside of the red dragon's neck. And everyone began to fall. Brioe watched in horror as Folyff's mother plunged off the side of the cliff; she then turned to see the red dragon, with a sickening crunch, crash to the ground, a clearly lethal hit; and last of all, she saw Folyff fall as well. Thinking fast, she used her wind magic to try and soften his fall, but she was too weak. Folyff crashed to the ground, the same as the red dragon. But he got up, wounds all over his body, and limped painfully towards Brioe. She watched, panicked, as he fell to the ground. Then he looked up at her, and said only five words: “I... have proved myself, Brioe.” And Folyff slumped to the ground. Brioe did not need to check. She knew that Folyff was dead. And she did not want to look at him any longer. Instead, she turned towards her father, the only one left other than her, tears pouring down her cheeks. But Dzkal did not look towards her. He simply turned, opened his wings, and flew away, towards their home. Brioe, not knowing why he was ignoring her, followed. When they finally got to their cave, Brioe cautiously stepped towards her father. “Dad...?” she began to say. But her father merely glanced at her, fury etched into his face. “Why are you still following me?” he asked her roughly. “Go.” “Where?” Brioe asked, fearing that her father was telling her to leave her family. “Anywhere. Anywhere other than here.” Brioe sat in silence for a second, taking in the shock. Then he father whirled around and snarled in her face. “GO!” And Brioe, without a sound, tears still streaming down her cheeks, ran away into the night. Brioe wandered the land endlessly, never seeming to stop crying. Her eyes seemed to turn permanently red from her tears. She seemed to have no other emotion other than sadness, and she killed food when she was starving, slept when she could walk no more. It was as if everything had been ripped from her but a tiny fragment of her former self. She wandered, drone-like, for three full years that seemed to go by like nothing. Then, one day, she happened to pass by and see a reflection of herself in the Selicarian Lake. She stared at herself. Who was she? Who had she been? Then she remembered what her life had been like before nearly everyone died. How she was happy and playful and energetic... And had Folyff. And Brioe realized what she had to do. She could live now. The sadness was over. The wound had healed. She didn't need to cry any more. From then on, she kept herself going with those words. “I don't need to cry any more.” Years passed. She had been wandering the land as a loner. Then, after four years of living on her own, advancing her magic and her physical abilites, she found the Juthivar Clan. She remembered what it was like to have friends. And she asked to join. Picture: None. Other: Edited by dragongirl88, Mar 28 2010, 06:01 PM.
