Dragon of the masters

The last few months had been extremely difficult for Naruk. Not only had he been abandoned by his mate for a second time, but he was now essentially homeless after leaving his clan. He thought that maybe that he could find the answer in one of the other clans, but he wasn't suited for life in the desert, and Juthivar was too different for him, but yet all of the same. Almost everyone there had someone, and every time he turned around something would remind him of Emmos. Hell when he first got to the clan the very first dragon that he saw looked exactly like Emmos without all of her scars. With everything that he had gone through with her having another dragon in the clan that reminded him so much of her would be a problem.

He lay on the edge of the Selicarian lake pondering on whether he should continue his meaningless existence of if it would be better for him to just end his pain. There would be no way that he could go back to his home now and still be able live peacefully. It was nigh impossible. No one would respect him at all, and the only thing that would be there was a constant reminder that he had been completely abandoned. It would only lead to more heartache in the future, and it just wasn't worth it. He could live out here as a loner, but he would forever be just that, alone.

A tear rolled down his face as his depression was now in full swing. Very little made him happy anymore, and in fact it had been a good three days since he had eaten anything. He was indeed hungry, but he had no desire or will to eat. His only desire at this point was to die, and he would slowly let his body kill itself. It was taking a lot longer than he had expected though, and he was growing tired of everything. His final decision was made. Unless an act of the ancestors were to shine upon him, he had made his decision to kill himself right now. Unfortunately it would still take a bit for him to bleed out, but he figured that he deserved to feel the pain as well. For not being strong enough to protect the ones he cared for and to have them abandon him. With out a second thought, he tool one of his ivory talons, and jabbed it into his shoulder and pulled down, making a very deep open wound. All that's left is to wait to die... he said to himself as he placed his head on the sand feeling his blood flow from the wound and exit his body, knowing that he will never need it again.

Valamuraka just lay there in her nest in the Furick sleeping place, quietly thinking to herself. She had joined the clan not seven months ago and she still didn't have a mate to call her own. Almost every other dragon had mates but she still yet to have one. Yes, she made friends with some of the male dragons in the clan that didnt have a mate but none of them claimed her as his. She took a deep sigh and closed her eyes. At this rate, I'll never have a mate she thought. She stood up and took a big stretch to kink out her sore muscles and walked out into the sunlight. Maybe a nice cool swim will wash some sense into me. She bent her back legs, lifted up her claws and pushed hard off the ground, feeling the dirt cave under her feet. She started heading for Selicarian lake since it was closer than the other lakes. The sun was bright and there were a few thick clouds covering up the suns heat. She saw the lake over the horizon and it looked as blue as ever.

She flew closer to the ground and finally landed in a clearing, not but a few meters away from the lake. She walked closer and noticed a white dragon laying on the edge. It seemed to her that he looked like he was thinking about something. Then she noticed a single tear roll down his face. He must be thinking about something that is upsetting him. Then she saw a very deep, very open wound across his shoulder. She didnt detect a scent of another dragon in the air so she suspects that he did it to himself. She walked closer but cautiously, not knowing if he was dangerous. She got into listening range and said Well you know that if you don't get that gashed cleaned up you'll get an infection, plus you will loose a lot of blood. She continued to look at the white male, waiting for a reply or a glace that he noticed that she was there and was really worried about his wound. From the looks of it, it seems that he didnt care that he was bleeding like crazy.

The thought of not having a mate had vanished from her thoughts and her attention was all focused on this dragon that was covered in scarlet red blood with the contrast to his pure white scales. She had never seen a dragon that wounded himself and not even care that he was loosing his lifeblood. She couldnt bare to see another living thing die, especially her own kind.

The warmth of the blood that was leaving his body was comforting as well as the drain that it was having on his energy. He knew that it wouldn't be too long now until he could pass into the void and have all of his life's torture removed from him, never having to deal with that ever again. No more worries about anything. I'll finally be at peace. the vast openness of the void is the only thing in life I have to look forward to, so might as well not delay the thing I want most. he thought to himself. He opened his pale green colored eyes to look out across the lack just watching the puddle of blood around him expand with each second as it flowed from his body.

Then a gust of wind blew and he caught something. It was the scent of another dragon. Great, just what I need, a witness. On the bright side though, maybe they could just kill me faster, and end everything. They wouldn't know how much I would love them if they did that. he thought to himself as he heard the dragoness, as the tone of voice made it obvious that she as female, spoke to him. She made it obvious that she wasn't here to kill him by telling him that if he didn't get that gash cleaned up that it could get infected, and not to mention all the blood he was losing. He just blinked in response. The voice of the dragoness was familiar, but he couldn't place a name to her.

He turned one of his eyes to her and looked her figure over a second. He recognized her from Furick. He didn't remember her name though, he had a hunch, but he could remember if it was Calmera or Valamaruka, or Lamara or something of the like. Not that it mattered to him though. If she was from Furick, he highly doubted that she would know him, and if she didn't would probably just shun him anyways like everyone else did. What's the point of taking care of it? That wound is the best thing that's happened to me in a long time. It gives me peace, and will soon rid me of my problems, and I'll never have to be abandoned again. He told the dragoness before laying his head down. The scales on his forelimbs now completely crimson and shimmering as blood flowed over them.

Valamuraka stood there in front of the white, crimson covered dragon, waiting for any kind of response from her comment she made about the bleeding wound. All she saw was a blink in response. Thats good she thought at least he's responsive. Then he turned one of his pale green eyes and looked over her for a second, which made her redden slightly. He then said What's the point of taking care of it? That wound is the best thing that's happened to me in a long time. It gives me peace, and will soon rid me of my problems, and I'll never have to be abandoned again. Laying down his head on his front limbs, now completely covered in his precious lifeblood, he continued to bleed and not care. She stood there silently, absorbing at what this male had just said. She opened her mouth to say something but closed it to think of something wise to say. She moved closer to him and sat down. How can a wound be the best thing that happened to you? How can it be the best for anybody if it causes pain? she asked. Bleeding yourself won't rid yourself of your problems. Killing yourself by loosing your lifeblood wont fix them either. I know being abandoned is tough, but it's not worth dieing over.

She continued to look at the dragon, seeing if he would say anything. If you want me to leave you here and let you kill yourself, just tell me now and I will leave, she paused but if you want me to stay and heal your wound, I will do that. And you know what else? I think it's kind of sad, seeing my own kind giving up on life so easily. Dragons are pround creatures and they don't give up as easily as you are doing now. The only time they give up if it's absolutley nessecary. Her voice held the truth in it. She has never seen a dragon, let alone a male throw his life away like it was a fragile rabbit. But what was weird is that she also felt very protective of him. She had never seen this dragon until now but it felt like she had known him all her life. She didn't want him to die but she didn't control his actions so she would let him to what he wanted.

Red. That was the predominate color of him now. He may have been born a white dragon, but his scales where now covered with crimson. He had absolutely no reason to remain on this planet and he doubted that there would be anything that could possibly change his mind. He had been hurt far too many times to care about anything else now. The only thing that was left that he wanted was to die.

It seemed that someone was going to try to prevent that as well. Why he had no idea. He had no idea why she was even here. She didn't know him at all, and he didn't know her, so why should she care about the fact that he's bleeding to death? It didn't make any sense to him. He figured he'd better answer her though. As much as he didn't care about anything else, he still didn't want to be rude. or at least no too much so, but when she told him that dragons were supposed to be proud that they never gave up easily, he became a bit agitate. You haven't been abandoned twice by the same mate and your daughter. You weren't forced to leave your home so that the memories of those you loved won't haunt you. You don't have to live with constant dreams of everyone fading away... he told her with a tear in his eye.

Tell me how I haven't lost everything? My home, my family, my honor, my dignity... the only thing I haven't lost yet has been my life, which I'll even end up losing anyway. Since no one would apparently miss me if I died, then what's the point of living if I'm not wanted. Do I want to die, no, but I have run out of options for a peaceful, normal life. I can't go a day without remembering them. With out seeing their faces, watching them walk out of the cave for the last time again. If you've ever been completely abandoned, then you know how I feel and why I do. No one cares about me, and no one ever has, so what's the point of continued. Heal me if you want... I don't know if it will last until after my next dream, he told her tears dropping on the open wound making him grimace in pain as the salt from his tears stung really bad.

She stood up and backed away from the male. Why am I even here she asked herself. it looks like he doesn‘t even want me here, he just doesn’t care. When she said that dragons are supposed to be proud creatures and that they didn’t give up on life easily, that struck a nerve on him. He said You haven't been abandoned twice by the same mate and your daughter. You weren't forced to leave your home so that the memories of those you loved won't haunt you. You don't have to live with constant dreams of everyone fading away...

and tears fell from his eyes, hitting the wound making him flinch. Your right, I haven’t been abandoned twice by my mate or my child. I wasn’t forced to leave my clan because of them. And I’m not living with the constant dreams of them fading away and you know why? she asked him. Because I‘ve never had a mate to call my own and love. I‘ve never had children to love and cherish or have any to abandon me with the mate I never had. And loosing a home, a family, honor and dignity is extremely hard, especially for a dragon. I left my home to find a new one, it was hard and I never found a mate during that time. But like I said, I never experienced your pain because I never had a family but you don’t see me going off, causing suicide because I don’t have anything anymore. I‘ve never had it. she finished, about to go into tears herself. She took a deep breath to keep a sob from escaping her maw but her emotions betrayed her and a loud sob escaped.

The river of crimson continued to flow from the wound on the white dragon's shoulder after he had finished telling soft green dragoness why he had felt the way that he has. The wound now burned severely from the salt from his tears landing on it, and he noticed that even though he told her that she could heal the wound if she wanted to, she made no attempt to do so. That only strengthened his argument. No one cared if he died. She had just proved that to him.

The she started talking. She told him that he was right, that she had never experienced anything like he has, and then proceeded to tell him that it was because she had never had a family to begin with. This struck him a bit. He was upset at the fact that she had said that to him. If he had never had a family, then he would have never been in this situation or been abandoned or been forced to leave his clan. At the same time though he felt for her, because he remembered that while they were together, Emmos and him had a lot of wonderful times together. Times that this dragoness never had a chance to have, and the told him that he didn't see her trying to commit suicide.

He still thought it daring of her to state because he knew that of the two them, his situation was worse. At least, he felt like his was worse. He was biased about the situation, but he couldn't help it. The fact still remained that she had made no effort to heal him, and than he was the one that had lost everything, not her. He sighed, I can understand how that may be difficult. I remember all the fun times that we had together, I just don't know what every when wrong or why she left. That's what hurts the most is to just not know why. He started.

I would be perfectly okay with moving on away from her if I just knew why she left me. For all I know I just wasn't ever good enough for her, or it's possible that she was killed, I just don't know. he told her as a chain of coughs racked through his body forcing blood to spurt from his wound as to just run out. If you are going to heal that... I'd suggest doing so fairly soon. he told her looking at the sand beneath him and the scales of his forearms. He had lost a major amount of blood, and he was starting to feel the effects of the blood loss.

The white dragons precious lifeblood continued to flow from the horrible wound from his shoulder. If I don’t heal that wound quickly, he will die of blood loss she thought. But he hasn’t said anything about me being able to heal it yet. When she explained to him her situation, when she said she never had a family to start with, it looked to her like it struck him just a bit, and that he was a tad upset. She knew that his situation was worse than hers. His family had abandoned him, but that gave him no reason to give up life. But that was just her own opinion. Valamuraka then heard him sigh and say I can understand how that may be difficult. I remember all the fun times we had together, I just don’t know what every when wrong or why she left. That’s what hurts the most is to just not know why. I would be perfectly okay with moving on away from her if I just knew why she left me. For all I know I just wasn’t ever good enough for her, or its possible that she was killed, I just don’t know. She looked at him with sadness in her eyes. I don’t think it was your fault that she left or that there was anything wrong with you. It could do you some good to move on, even though it would be tough. But having that question drilled in your mind about why she left, even I could understand that couldn’t be that easy to get away from. Then he started having a chain of serious coughs sending his blood even quicker from his body. If you are going to heal that….. I’d suggest doing so fairly soon he told her while looking at the crimson colored sand. She finally had his permission to heal his wound and it made her smile. She walked to his side and layed close to him, focusing all her concentration on his wound. She could feel her magic going from her to him while it cleansed the wound and started to knit itself back together. Finally, he has some since in him to not give up. He is a proud dragons after all. she thought to herself while she looked down at him with caring eyes. So, she started What are you going to do now that you’re still here? she asked him with a little humor in her question.

The blood that was now pouring from his shoulder was becoming more and more profuse, and was ultimately starting to drain him. He heard her mention to him as she walked over and started to heal the wound, that she didn't think that it was his fault that she would have left him. How would she know that? she didn't know him, Granted they were in the same clan, but still she didn't know him, and she doubt that she knew Emmos, or she would have recognized who he was by now. The fact that she didn't though didn't bother him too much. If she didn't know him, then nothing could be hurt because of him. He was still surprised though that she had even been bothered to stop and talk to him and even think about saving him to begin with. the very thought was absurd. The more he thought about it though, the more he realized that if the situations had been reversed he would have been doing the same thing that she was. She was just being nice, and there was nothing wrong with that.

She had just finished healing the wound that he had inflicted to himself, however, almost the entire front quarter of his body was not covered in blood. He wasn't too far from the lake so he answered her question of what he would do now. I don't have the faintest idea. I know right now I'm going to wash the blood from my scales, after that, everything is in the air. I still don't have a home, and I still don't have a family anymore. I doubt Furick would even consider letting me back in the clan, and non of the others are suitable. Juthivar is nice, but just not my style, too many storms on the coast and it's too damn hot in Kukirion. So finding a home is going to be next to impossible right now. he told her. The truth was he had no where to go anymore, and no place to turn to. Maybe I should have just told her to leave me alone and let me die... he thought to himself.

Valamurakas healing seemed to be doing it’s work, seeing as the blood flow was ceasing and the muscle of his shoulder was knitting back together. She stopped when it was fully healed, panting just a bit from the energy loss she used to heal the white dragon. Now there was just the massive blood stain covering front side. When she asked him what he was going to do now he answered I don't have the faintest idea. So finding a home is going to be next to impossible right now She stood, thinking. Well, how does he know that Furick wont let him back in? He couldn’t have done something horrible for that to happen. Did he? she asked herself. Then she decided to ask him that same question. How do you know that the clan won’t take you back, is my question. And not having a family now, I don’t blame you if you didn’t want to return. she told him. In truth, she wanted him to return to the clan with her. She stood there in silence for a second. Well you never know until you try right? she asked, happily smiling at him. I don’t think our leaders are that cold hearted in not letting an old clan member return. Be the circumstances at which you left in the first place. she finished. Then she thought of an idea. Maybe you should return to the clan with me and…and… she began but couldn’t think of what to say next. She became flustered and she reddened a little bit. She didn’t really know how to deal with situations on which a dragon had no home to return to, or they didn’t know if the alphas would accept them back into their ranks. Well you cant stay out here by yourself, seeing as you just lost a fair amount of blood. You should be exhausted and maybe hunting could be hard for you and you would just loose more strength by it. she said. I could stay with you if you decide not to return to Furick and help you recover your strength and hunt for you she told him…if that is ok with you. It‘s your decision. she quickly put in.

Naruk just kind of cocked an "eyebrow" at the emerald dragoness when she askeed how he knew that the clan wouldn't let him back in. She wanted to know what he had done that was so wrong that the clan would simply refuse his existence. He thought it over for a few moments and realized that she had spoke the truth. He had left the clan in a proper manner and had given a proper resignation so in all reality, there would be no reason that he shouldn't be able to return to the clan.

He listened as she continued talking further adding that she didn't think that the alphas would be cold-hearted enough to not allow an old member of the clan back in, adding that he could come back with her, and noticed that she started fumbling for words for a second. He just kind of cocked an eyebrow again. He waited for a second until she added that he had lost a lot of blood, and would probably be very weak at the moment, and that hunting at the very least would be difficult. She said that she could stay with him and help him get his strength back if he chose not to return to furick.

That won't be necessary, he told her starting out. And the reason that it wouldn't be necessary is because you've shedded some light on me and brought me to a realization that I would be able to come home, though as far as your offer though... if... it's alright, and it still applies at home... I would be more than happy to accept, though I don't think I can go anywhere at the moment. I'll most likely pass out just from trying to stand up, let alone fly at the moment. he told her realizing that flying might not be the best option for him at the moment. He probably wouldn't be able to return home until tomorrow.

Valamuraka let the dragon think over what she had told him and waited for a response. He finally spoke saying That won’t be necessary. And the reason that it wouldn’t be necessary is because you’ve shedded some light on me and brought me to a realization that I would be able to come home, though as far as your offer though…if…it’s alright, and it still applies at home…I would be more than happy to accept, though I don’t think I can go anywhere at the moment. I’ll most likely pass out just from trying to stand up, let alone fly at the moment. Vala smiled when he said that she had shedded light over him about coming home. I never knew I could have such effect over others. she said. Besides, I couldn’t let an old clan member just die, even though I never met him, I just couldn’t stand it. She smiled even bigger when he said that he would accept her offer about returning to the clan with her. Of course it’s alright and yes it still applies to home

When he then said he didn’t think he could go anywhere and that he’ll pass out from just even trying to stand she nodded her head in agreement. I agree with you on that, and to be honest, you look horrible, but with on all the blood you lost, I probably would look the same she laughed. So…. Since we can’t return home tonight due to the fact that you’ll pass out any moment, and I still don’t trust you being here by yourself with all the strength you lost, I’ll stay here for the night and watch over you until tomorrow, and when you have gathered all your strength back, we can go home. She then walked over to the edge of the lake and took a long drink of water and added I think it’s kind of funny, seeing as we have been here this whole time, and we still haven’t learned each others names yet she laughed again. So, lets have a proper introduction. She walked over to the white dragon and said My name is Valamuraka or you could just call me Vala if you don’t want to say the whole thing.

Naruk let out a soft chuckle when he heard the dragoness mention to him that she never knew that she could have that kind of effect on others, and that she couldn't just let an old clan member die even if she didn't even know him. That it just wasn't right. She also didn't hesitate in saying that her offer that she had made also applied to when they got back to the clan, and that it was perfectly fine with her. He would owe her dearly for this, especially if he ever found anything again that would make him happy. The both knew that she had saved his life today. The life that he would have very easily just had through away with his blood that was covering the sand.

She then commented on the matter of the current predicament. Much to his dismay, and comfort at the same time, she agreed with him. Did he really look that bad? Of course he was literally covered in blood, and he was very weakened from the wound, but he didn't think he looked that bad. She's just being honest about it, and I was close to dying. he thought to himself. She went even further as to say that she was going to stay with him for the night because she also didn't trust him here by himself. which was probably a smart move on her part. he very well could have just tried again after she left, and there would be no one around to stop him. He paused for a moment though. Even if she left, and he had done that, she probably would have returned anyway, and would have only found his body. No, I couldn't put that kind of trauma on someone else. I would be forcing them to pretty much live through what I have if they offered me a home and then I did that.

He continued listening to her as she told him that she didn't have a problem watching over him for the night until he got his strength back and they could go home. He still wasn't used to hearing that word again, but it did sound really nice. He then heard her joke about the fact that they have been here talking about everything for so long. Well, more her talking him out of death, but still, and they hadn't even gotten the other's name. She really didn't know who he was. Which meant she probably didn't know Emmos as well. He thought about everything, and it reminded him how easily an individual could go unnoticed of be completely forgotten. He wondered if he would ever be able to completely forget about Emmos. Yeah, I didn't even realize that until you mentioned it. he replied.

He listened as she told him her name as well. Valamaruka, It was a rather long name, but it kind of flowed off of the tongue as well. She also told him that he could call her Vala if he liked, and Vala rolled off much better. IT is a pleasure to meat you Vala, even if the conditions of our first meeting wasn't exactly the best. he said with a soft laugh. My name is Naruk. I was the Delta of Furick before I left. Now I'm just, well, here. he said. There wasn't much enthusiasm behind the last bit, but again, he knew that several gallons of his blood rest on the shore in front of him. He didn't know what was going to come of any of this, but he may as well follow this path now since he had no where else to go.

Vala heard the white dragon chuckle, but barley, when she commented on the fact that she didn’t know that she could shed light over others, and that she couldn’t let a clan member die, knowing them or not. It’s true I didn’t know that I had that kind of effect on others, most of the time, they just ignore me completely . she thought. He continued to listen to her when she told him that she would watch over him during the night, until his strength returned and then they could return to the clan, return home. Something he hasn’t done in probably a long time she thought to herself while looking at him sadly. When she went to go get a drink from the lake, she mentioned something about being here the whole time and not learning each others names. Yeah, I didn’t even realize that until you mentioned it he replied. He listened to her introduce herself. It is a pleasure to meet you Vala, even if the conditions of our first meeting wasn’t exactly the best. saying with a small laugh. My name is Naruk. I was the delta of Furick before I left. Now I’m just, well, here. His laugh was gone by the last sentence. Well, its very nice to meet you too Naruk she said, smiling again. Not knowing what to do next, and out of mind, she walked back to Naruk and layed next to him. After all that blood he lost, I’m surprised he can even lift his head, let alone speak she thought, still concerned. Maybe you should was the blood off your scales, the scent is really getting to my head she looked at the blood soaked shore. Maybe after your done, I could get something to eat for you, maybe a couple of deer for starters she heard her stomach rumble a little. She felt her face warm up a little. I can’t believe I forgot to eat before I left she thought, her head getting a little light from a starving stomach and the smell of Naruks blood. She stood up and went to the edge of the lake. She turned her head to Naruk and said You better wash off that blood or you’ll start to get a headache as well. She then slid into the water and swam to start hunting.[/i][/i]

The scent from the blood in the area was becoming obnoxious, and he didn't know completely what to do about it. He knew that he would need to get the blood off of him, but he didn't know about what to do for the blood on the sand. It would be there for a while it looked like. Vala told him that she was happy to meet him as well, which he knew that she was going to say anyway. After all, he was just trying to kill himself. It would be smart to tell a dragon that was attempting to commit suicide was the biggest mistake they had made. He was caught though by her. Surprisingly, he saw a lot of Emmos in her. A lot. Her personality was very close to Emmos's at least from what he had seen.

Maybe you should was the blood off your scales, the scent is really getting to my head. Maybe after your done, I could get something to eat for you, maybe a couple of deer for starters. he heard Vala tell him as she literally laid down right next to him. It surprised him to see, but didn't make any mention of it. That was another reason she was like Emmos. She was full of surprises, and she didn't like blood. not that anyone did, but most could stand it. Emmos had been beaten so much in the past that seeing bothers bleed made her cringe, and when he was with her infuriated him and made him want to go after who ever had hurt the dragon.

He pushed himself into the lake and watching the crystal clear waters instantly get stain by the blood that was washing clear from his scales. He made a quick dive to clear the blood from the rest of his body and then surfaced once more, letting then clear water dilute the blood and wash now over his pure white scales just as they would a pearl or a gem. He looked back at the dragoness. He still could believe how she was willing to take care of him like she said that she was, but he wasn't one to complain right now. She had a lot off heart, again just like emmos, and the more he looked at her, the more he saw his old mate in her green body. NO! There is no possible way that could ever happen. Not with how she found me. He thought to himself shaking his head and giving her a small smile.

That smile, it was the first time he had actually truly smiled at another dragon in a long time. I think a couple deer would sound lovely right now, and I can't think of anyone I'd rather share them with than the one that just saved my life. He told her. Can you be anymore stupid saying something like that in front of someone you barely know!? he thought to himself. He tried to shake it out, but he had seen so much of Emmos in her now, that he could not, not like her. Now all he could do though was just lay in the water and wait for her to get back, hoping for once that she would come back, and that she wouldn't be too long.

Watching Naruk push himself into the water, letting the water wash over his body, ridding the red blood off his pure white scales. Vala watched him and noticed how lean and muscular his body was. She felt her face redden with heat that felt like she had a fever. He then quickly dove deeper into the lake, probably letting the water wash the blood off the rest of his body. Valamuraka watched the blood float on the surface of the lake, then watched as it dissipated until the water was crystal clear again. Naruk resurfaced again and then looked at her. Looking at her for a few seconds, then shaking his head. She looked at him with confusion, but he gave her a small smile. That smile looked like a true smile that she hasn’t seen since she met him. I think a couple deer would sound lovely right now, and I can’t think of anyone I’d rather share them with than the one that just saved my life he told her. Vala smiled and went to the edge of the lake were he stepped into and slid in the water herself. She swam over to him and looked at him. I’ll be back in a bit, don’t do anything rash while I’m gone. Okay? She gave him one last warm smile and swam away.

Stalking quietly through the woods, Valamuraka eyed a herd of deer that were grazing in a meadow only a few hundred feet away from were she stood. She looked through the whole herd, seeing which two she should take back for Naruk and herself. She eyed two big bucks at the edge of the meadow. She pictured who vines coming from the earth. Then, two huge brown vines came out from under the two bucks feet and went to their necks, snapping them in an instant. The rest of the heard bounded away, leaving the two dead bucks to Vala. Walking through the meadow and to her prey, Vala gathered them in her front claws, bent her back legs, pushed hard and flew to the sky. She flew to were the lake was and to a nearby meadow. She landed and put the bucks onto her back, making sure they didn’t fall, and went back to the lake and Naruk. Here you go she said, putting one of the bucks in front of Naruk and layed down to eat hers.

Naruk watched calmly as the dragoness that he now knew as Valamaruka, or Vala as he had heard that she was called moved closer to him for a brief second. For the first time really for their entire meeting he was able to catch her scent. Granted most of it was blocked by the water, but what he could catch of her was wonderful, and it reminded him of home. The Furick scent and the lush crisp mountain air lingered over her as if he were still in the mountains and made him shiver. He gave a wry smile when she told him that she would be back in a bit and not to do anything rash. Don't worry, I'll still be alive when you get back. He told her as she left the lake and went off to hunt.

Everything about this just seems wrong. How could I just turn my back on Emmos? She... she had been my life for so long.... but... he thought to himself with a sigh. it's obvious that bother her and my daughter want nothing more to do with me. Maybe completely letting go of the past would be a good thing and starting over again could work He told himself.

The thought of the emerald dragoness that had been helping him continued to wash over him. He still couldn't imagine why she would care about a random dieing dragon, but it drew him to her, possibly a bit more so because it was him that she save. I feel a little sorry for her, never having anything. On the bright side she's never had anything to lose though. He looked up noticing her starting to return noticing the two deer in her claws. The way the sun reflected off of her she looked like a giant gem in the air just gliding towards him. Perhaps, starting over will indeed be a good thing. he thought as he felt real happiness inside of him as she landed on the bank.

She slid the deer carefully onto her back and slid into the lake. She was just as gorgeous in the water as she was in the sky. When she got to him in the shallows, she had laid next to him with a "here you go."

Thank you. I'll really have to think of some way to make this up to you in the future. I still don't know what possessed you to keep me alive, but for some reason, I'm not to upset any more, and death.... Just seems like I'd be robbing the land of something amazing.[/i] he told her. Maybe he was talking a little bit too much, but hey, he was trying to build esteem. He was happy as he had been for the longest time and he was going to take advantage of it. She placed the buck in front of him and then laid to eat hers. He started skinning the deer to remove the fur and then began eating the deer that she provided for him. He would have to find some way to repay her for this eventually once he was healthy again. Whatever she wanted he would do for her.

Valamuraka landed in a meadow close to the lake, placed the deer on her back, and went to the shallows of the lake to Naruk. When she gave Naruk his deer he replied Thank you. I’ll really have to think of some way to make this up to you in the future. I still don’t know what possessed you to keep me alive, but for some reason, I’m not to upset any more, and death…. Just seems like I’d be robbing the land of something amazing. She smiled. He seemed happy. More happy then when she first met him. Well, like I said before, I can’t stand for a dragon to die, rather I know them or not. It would just crush me if it happened and I’m glad your not really upset anymore she looked down at the buck and her stomach growled. She felt her face redden but it vanished instantly. She then started to take the fur and skin off of her buck. When it was clean of irritating fur, she opened her maw and let a little jet of flame sear the meat. She took a wif of the scent. Aww, that smells really good. she thought. Taking one of her talons, she cut a huge chunk from the back legs and popped it into her mouth. She looked over to Naruk to see how he was doing. You must think I'm weird, cooking my food before I eat it she told him. But for some reason, I just can't eat raw meat. It's always been that way, ever since I was little. She gave a soft laugh. Even my parents thought I was an oddity, but they eventually got used to it.She thought that a light conversation would make them both relax, due to earlier events.

Naruk laid there in the water blissfully. He was indeed hungry, and the severe amount of blood that he had lost didn't help matters and, it was taking a toll on him. As he pulled meat from the deer though and consumed the dripping flesh, he could slowly feel his body starting to regain it's strength, but it would take a full night's rest to get his body back to prime shape. He would probably need to to some extra flying as well, with him lazing about most of the time, he had put on weight, and he could feel it as well.

He looked over to Valamaruka and smiled as well as cocked a head to see her shoot a bit of flame at the deer that she was eating. It instantly burned the fur off of the deer and it left the meat several shades darker than what the raw flesh of his deer was like. When he heard her speak about it, he let out a soft laugh along with her. Actually, it's not so much weird as it is mostly just not thought of. he replied. Besides, weird is a relative term, what you think is weird to some is completely normal to someone else. Cooking ones food is far from weird, and I can assure you others have done it. He chuckled as he bit off another piece of his deer before realizing there was nothing left but bones. With a quick flick behind him, the bones landed in a splash. He knew that the fish in the lake would make use of them in some way.

If anyone of us here is weird it would be me. I mean, after all, how many other dragons do you know that would cut a hole in themselves deeper than a lake? He said jokingly. He didn't really know what else he could really ask her. He had all kinds of other questions for her. How home was like now, what had changed and he wanted to know a little bit more about her as well, but he wasn't sure if this was the proper time to ask questions like that or not.

(Sorry it's not long, I couldn't think of ANYTHING!!xD)

When Valamuraka seared her deer, she noticed that Naruk smiled and cocked his head when she did it. She didn't say anything and continued to eat her deer. When she commented that he must of thought her weird because she cooked her food. Actually, it's not so much weird as it is mostly just not thought of,he started. Besides, weird is a relative term, what you think is weird to some is completely normal to someone else. Cooking ones food is far from weird, and I can assure you others have done it. he finished, laughing and continued to eat his food, but noticed that only bones were left. He threw them into the lake and said If anyone of us here is weird it would be me. I mean, after all, how many other dragons do you know that would cut a hole in themselves deeper than a lake? She laughed. Well, I guess you have a point there. She had never laughed so much in such a little timespan. She looked into the sky and saw the sun setting. I've never really noticed how beautiful a sunset is she said while discarding her deer bones. She really never had a peacefull evening with anyone since she joined the clan. So, since we are not going back to the clan tonight, do you want to sleep here? she asked, talking about near the lake or somewhere else? You choose. She yawned and she felt her eyes droop a little but managed to keep them open.
