Anzianne flew over the smooth surface of the lake, the water glittering gold with the setting sun. She had recently been hunting, and let herself slide down into the water, washing away the remains of her prey's blood. She lingered under the shining surface, enjoying the feeling of the water rushing past her scales before swimming to shore. The sun was beginning to set, painting the sky orange and crimson. Azia lay down on the shore, placing her head on her paws. She should be going back to the clanlands soon, but the sky was so pretty. It couldn't hurt to watch for a bit longer, not when it was so soothing. Azia's eyelids drooped and closed, and soon she was immersed in sleep.

Darkness was all around her, pressing in from all sides until it felt as if she couldn't breathe. This place was somewhere she knew, but could never remember where or what it was. All she could remember was that each time she had been here, it had been terrifying. Slowly, things came into focus. She was laying on the floor of a cave, two forms laying near the entrance. She recognized the forms as sleeping dragons. Moonlight colored the scene in a blue tint. A third form was moving towards them, a huge dragon whose scales reflected the light, making him appear outlined in gold.

Azia watched, frozen in position on the ground, as the gilded dragon raised a single paw, his claws glittering and brought it swiftly down on one of the sleeping dragon's necks. The gilded dragon moved on as a dark liquid began pooling from the now still form. Even in the blue light, it was unmistakable. Blood. Azia wanted to run, but she was still locked there, forced to watch in horror as the gilded dragon repeated his actions with the second form. A second puddle formed, and the gilded dragon just stood there. After what felt like an eternity, he slowly looked straight at Azia.

And then the scene spun and changed. The cave was replaced by a forest, the blood exchanged for trees and grass. A dragon stood before her, his golden scales dulled by the blood coming from his own wounds. He began walking toward Azia, his eyes closed, stopping only a foot from her. A scent of decay hung about him and when he opened his eyes, there was nothing there. She had to suppress her scream at the sight of empty blackness where his eyes should be. As if he was sensing her fear, he began to smile in a most horrible manner. It stretched across his face, almost threatening to tear it into two. He started laughing, a low, rasping sound that froze er to her core.

She caught the scream before it sounded, stifling it in her throat so it sounded only like a gasp. Her breathing was ragged and heavy, her eyes unfocused. Fighting to get back into control, Azia noticed that the sun had set and a full moon had taken it's place. The pale disk hung high above her head while it's reflection lay in the center of the lake. Her breathing finally in check again, Azia lifted herself to her feet and shakily made her way into the water. The cooling water soothed her nerves, but Azia knew she wouldn't sleep for the rest of tonight and most likely, tomorrow night as well. She turned to float on her back and stared at the moon above her, taking comfort in the fact that at least the rest of tonight would be well-lit.

You are in my space... GET OUT

She had lost control. Her mind was a confused jumble as the memories flooded back. That wasn't the only thing flooding though. Blood dripped from her body, her scales soaked thoroughly with the crimson tide. She could not handle it. The blood toxity was far too high and she guessed she would be bleeding like this for quite some time. The Uropure Virus had damaged her beyond repair and she was having trouble keeping it under control lately. Especially now as the memories came back.

Nothing will ever take you from me again my young one...
Broken promises, an ached and dead heart. She had watched him die slowly. So very slowly. She had killed him. Not on purpose, never. She could not kill him on purpose, he was her bonded rider. Long before he was born and thanks to her wench of a sister. But she knew who would have been his bond dragon would have been. A syneath dragon known as Aiveternia Dycessius. The poor child. Just as broken as her rider.

The blood trailed from her scales and she groaned, th last words echoeing, his eyes giving way and he could not see her... Could not feel her there. The dragon slammed her head into a wall, the pain not enough to drown the other feelings. Her tail lashed as she slammed herself onto anything tough enough to sustain the impact of her body. She needed pain to drown him out. She cracked her jaws open nd screamed. Her sharp teeth piercing into her gums as she closed her jaws. Blood filled her throat as her vision swirled and her head fogged. Her claws dug into the earth and she took a running leap forward. She could hear a lake. It would clean the blood off and maybe... Just maybe... She could find Her Beloved on the other side.

The water surrounded her as she lunged. The pain too much Now. She took in great lung fulls of tge icy cold blackness. Trying to drown herself, she did not want this anymore... She spread her wings out as the water let her float. She was like a little girl, searching for a purpose, for something, for her beloved. She began to hum, wanting to die and simply waiting. She had all night. The blood toxity was just right too. It would be her only chance for a few months. The humming died and rose, she couldn't focus anymore. She groaned and closed her eyes.

Azia was pulled out of her reverie as a piercing scream echoed from the side of the lake. Rolling over so she floated on her stomach, she looked to see a deep red dragoness standing on the shore. The dragoness seemed unsteady, swaying from side to side before sprinting dead on into the lake. The black water enveloped the red scales, and Azia found herself watching to see if the other dragoness would resurface. Eventually she did, her wings spread to her sides and her face down in the water. Azia wondered why the dragoness didn't turn herself over, then felt her blood turn cold. This had been a suicide attempt.

She swam quickly over to the other dragoness and grabbed ahold of the red's tail with her teeth between two spikes. Even if the dragoness had already died, she needed to be out of the water, and if she wasn't dead, then maybe the sting of Azia's teeth could wake her up somehow. Struggling, Azia began swimming towards the shore. She was halfway to the shore and wishing for water magic when he heard the dragoness humming from beneath the surface of the water. Azia pushed her legs to swim faster now that she knew that the red was still alive.

Azia released the dragon's tail so she could get on shore, then grabbed the dragoness' tail again. It was hard pulling her up without the water's help, but Azia pulled the dragoness up the sand before flopping down on her side. She had used most of her energy and was now breathing heavily through her opened mouth. Water seemed to still be running off the red's body, but soon Azia noticed that it was much, much too dark to be water. She stood carefully and walked over to the dragoness on the sand. The scent of blood filled Azia's nose and her thoughts were confirmed.

Swallowing hard, Azia nudged the dragoness with a paw. H-hey. You're alive, right? P-please wake up. She hated how quiet her voice seemed. She gave the dragoness a second nudge. Come one, wake up! Please! You're bleeding from... everywhere! Oh God, she thought. If she's dead, then that'll be another nightmare. Azia held her breath, both in anticipation and to avoid the scent of blood.

Her sides heaves with the effort to breathe. She opened her eyes as the water emptied from her lungs. The coldness left, her sides numb as she tried to figure out if she was dead or not. Warmth seeped through her scales.... Warmth? Sticky... Wet... Warm.. Blood. She wasn't dead yet. She was very much alive. She heard avoice faintly. Opening her eyes, she saw darkness and then she realised... This dragon had stopped her from killing herself.

Lifting her head, dizziness struck her and she let her head fall back. Her jaws cracked open and she gave out a wrenching wail of despair and agony. Her wong jerked upward, her tail around and she lunged, slamming into the dragon whom had pulled her from the water. Her head shook violently as she backed away. Her scales glittering as the blood soaked her and dripped to the ground. Beauty divine... Destroyed Beauty. She let another cry escape, the blood Toxity had dropped down now. She was too late. Her chance hone until the next build up of toxic strains in her blood cells. The Uropure Virus unstable, and she was left with that, and with Prostev. She backed up a little farther.

Crouching, she narrowed get eyes on the dragon and hissed, Who are you? Teeth bared in a feral snarl she gripped the ground and kept her eyes on the dragon and refused to move.

Azia let out her held breath when she saw the other dragon's sides moving and eyes open. The other dragoness then lifted her head and wailed in despair. Azia tilted her head, confused. This dragoness really had wanted to die that badly? The dragoness' wing suddenly shot up and she slammed into Azia, knocking her to the ground. Azia lay there stunned, watching the dragoness shake her head and back up, then let out another wail.

Azia again lifted herself to her feet, shaking her head to rid herself of the dizziness from being thrown down. The other dragoness had entered a crouch, ready to spring again. Azia braced herself for any future impact as she heard the other dragoness speak.

Who are you?

Azia watched the other dragon sink her claws into the ground and noticed that she had set her blood red eyes on her, watching her every movement. Azia knew that she could always fight this dragon if things went bad, but the last time she had been in a fight had been when she had got her scar, and that had been before she had forgotten everything.... It would simply be better to show she was no threat. Azia drew her feet together and out of her bracing position.
I'm Anzianne, Azia for short. What's your name? And if you don't mind, why are you bleeding? Do you need healing from a fight? Azia didn't honestly expect an answer to these questions, but if she didn't ask, then an answer would never come.

Hissing She bared her teeth in a feral snarl. Tail lashing as blood dripped from her scales, her wings unfurled and wrapped around as she stood to her tallest height on four legs. Her eyes narrowed as she thought of the rule of names... Never give away your own. But she was dead inside, it did not mean anything anymore. She relaxed her composure, if this dragon, Azia, wanted her dead, she would have let her drown and not be worrying about the blood. Looking to her sides as she opened her wings fully outward, she looked at theblood dripping from them, and then to Azia. My name, is Sangyne Annevile. As for the blood.. Do not worry on it. It is the least of my worries and will come forth whether I will or not.

She had calmed down greatly, but she was still enraged that her chance to find James was gone. To be with him again. It was gone for now. Looking at Azia, her eyes began to swim from red, to a watery reflectant blue. A beautiful depth, like falling into them... Or that she was looking into your soul. Her jaws cracked open as blood pooled into them. She let it drip from her jaws, tasting the toxic blood. Thick rivers of sanguinary liquid dripping from her body. She did not care. It would occur whenever the toxic level got too high. Her negative charge alone was enought to deem her as an animal with one goal: Survive.

Survival was a key element to the viruses, without survival, Prostev would die out. With Uropure... It became it's host. Fusing it's cell structure with the host. Sangyne was no exception.
