The weather outside was atrocious, as it would be expected this time of year here in the mountains. Many of the entrances to the central camber of this inactive volcano had already been snowed over, and Naruk knew that many of the smaller dragons would be buried underneath the snow. He rested in his den wondering what there could be to do inside. He didn't to much like being trapped in the den, and he still wasn't comfortable enough going out into the central chamber to commerce with other dragons in the clan. There was only one dragoness that was in the clan that he had felt comfortable enough to talk to since he had been back and that one was Valamaruka. She had been the one that had talked him into coming back to the clan lands and Tarin had been very nice and accepting towards him letting him back into the clan and was grateful that Vala had talked him into returning. In the end Naruk was happy himself for returning. He had missed the mountains around his home, but was still uncomfortable around some of the other dragons that were in the clan because they disliked his course of action. He decided to just move to the opening of the cave over looking the central chamber. It sat on the third floor of caves and over looked the entire chamber almost. He wanted to be high off the chamber floor so that other dragons couldn't just walk in on him. granted if they really wanted to they could fly up to him, but most knew that he would prefer to be left alone. For once though, he was lonely, and wondered what everyone else was doing so he just looked below to see several dragons commuting inside the chamber. The chamber it self was well lit for being inside of a volcano. A couple energy dragons who had mastered energy made orbs that pulled energy from their surroundings and never went out, and they circled the chamber emitting vibrant while lights. They were truly magnificent to look at the way they spiraled up the chamber and they had a ring of green orbs around the center which was the meeting area. Whenever a meeting was necessary, the orbs turned white and a wall of earth enclosed the space so that the meeting could take place with out those who didn't need to know anything figuring it out or hearing. After looking at the lights for a moment he began to wonder what Vala was up to and began scanning the chamber to see if she was awake yet. He was hoping she was. the more he talked with her, the more attached he felt to her, the more he felt the same feelings for her that he felt with Emmos, only he knew that she would never abandon him if things did work out. |

The few months that passed since that day felt like short weeks to Valamuraka. Since meeting Naruk time seemed to pass by slowly. Minutes turned to hours; hours turned to days; days to weeks, then to months. While the timed passed, the season changed to winter. Vala lay curled her den in the sleeping chamber while a violent blizzard made its way through their mountain home. Vala patrolled some of the entrances, some she never walked through, that led to the central chamber of the volcano home earlier when the blizzard had started to arrive and snow had already started making its way to cover the pathways and entrances. Though not like being stuck inside and not being able to see the sky, she felt comfortable being in a warm place instead of being out in the harsh cold. She lay with her head resting on her tail, her eyes scanning the chamber in curiosity, seeing if any of the dragons who resided there were awake or fast asleep. Although her eyesight was keen in the darkest of nights, some of the dragons who had mastered the magic of energy casted light orbs, the orbs absorbing the energy from around them and lighting the rooms they were in. The light made it easier to see the faces of others and not so scary looking as it would have been if it were pitch black in the volcano. Hearing the howling winds of the blizzard outside made Vala shiver and raise her head to take a look outside. It didn’t look as if the blizzard would let up anytime soon. She sighed and layed her head back down. She scanned the chamber once more and her eyes landed on a body as white as the snow that was hurling itself outside. She smiled when she saw Naruk lying there. She was happy that he agreed to return to the clan, and even more glad when Tarin let him. Ever since they made their way back, that was all she worried about. Would the alphas let him back in the clan, would they not, or would they kill him? All of those possibilities ran through her head the whole time. Glad that the first option was the one that happened, all she could do was relax. One thing that Valamuraka noticed when the two returned was that Naruk wouldn't go to the central chamber when other dragons of the clan were there. It seems that Naurk is uncomfortable when other dragons are around she thought. I wouldn't blame him though. After all that had happened with him leaving. What would the others think? She didn't want to think of what others thought. All she cared about is that he was alive and back home. She lifted herself off of the warmed floor and stretched like a big cat. Her muscles argued with the sudden movement but relaxed as she moved. Her wings instinctively unfolded as she stretched them up. Being stuck in a place where you can't see the sky and fly wasn't one of her favorite thing to do. She started to walk over to where Naruk layed, stopping only to look at the storm outside. The little orbs of light making it easier to see if his eyes were open or closed. They were open. She smiled as she walked closer. Hey she said. How are you today? She wanted to know how he was doing, especially after the few months of being back, she hadn't seen how he was fairing on returning. |

Naruk rested there in the entrance of his den just overlooking the central chamber and listening. Many of the dragons that were in the clan were complaining about the blizzard outside. He just sighed. It was pointless to complain about the weather in his opinion because there was no way to do anything about it. If it was going to snow, it was going to snow, and there wasn't anything that anyone here in this clan could do about it. He looked down one of the entrances to see that the snow in front of it had caved in and was showing the conditions outside. It wasn't much to look at. Just more snow falling to replace the snow that was falling inside the cave. He was so captivated by the weather outside that he didn't even realize that Vala was there was a dragoness approaching him until he heard her speak to him. Hey, he heard from his left. He turned to look to see who would be willing to come all the way up here to see him and he smiled when he saw who it was. It was Valamaruka, the one dragon that he still cared for a lot in this clan. He was actually beginning to grow the same feelings for her that he had for Emmos before she abandoned him. He was starting to love her, but he was far too shy and nervous to say that to her face yet. He looked into her gorgeous silver eyes and noticed the small bit of green in her right eye. She was so beautiful with her emerald green scales flowing over her like thousands of beautifully polished gems that were of perfection in quality. How are you today? he heard her ask him. He thought about the answer for a moment and then opened his maw. I'm still not quite as comfortable with the rest of the clan as I was before, and the more I listen to some of the ones that are in the central chamber, the more I realize how whiny some of them are. Yes, this is a bad blizzard, but there isn't anything we can do about it, so why get all bent up about it. We have plenty of food for the clan to ride it out thanks to you. he told her complimenting her heavily on her duties. AS for myself personally, I'm okay, I've had a lot of things on my mind recently but... he trailed off starting to blush. I don't know if everything else is mutual or not. I will say, I'm not overly disappointed that Emmos is gone now, and somebody else is living in that den, so I don't have to be reminded of the hurt she caused me any more. he said pausing. Why don't we go inside? I feel more comfortable talking in there than out here in the open. TO be honest he wasn't even sure what he wanted. but he knew that he didn't want to talk with here in the open and possibly hurt her reputation in the clan with the other dragons. He wanted to make sure that she stayed happy. After all, he really did love her. |

Vala continued walking towards where Naruk lay. As she did so, she saw something crawl his face. It looked as if uneasiness was covering her friends features. When she finally reached him, she smiled and greeted him with a simple "Hey" and asked how he was fairing today. The snow colored dragon stay silent for a moment before answering. The green dragoness nodded in agreement about some of the clan members being whiny. I have to agree with you one that she stated, some of the clan members are a bit whiny, but I guess it can't be helped, seeing as we are unable to stretch are wings and the like, so they tend to get agitated she finished with a small chuckle. She could only smile as he complimented her on the food she and the other hunters (actually only being one other) brought back for the clan. He then continued. AS for myself personally, I'm okay, I've had a lot of things on my mind recently but... she could easily see the tinge of pink on his cheeks as he paused and thought it was cute. . Vala thought about what Naruk said. It as true that Emmos' den was taken by another but will seeing another dragon really make him forget the hurt she caused her, or will it bring back the painful memories? She decided just to wait and find out. Naruk's only been back for a couple of months, which seemed so much longer to her, and he seemed fine, but she will have to wait to see if anything changes. When he asked if they could go inside due to his uncomfortableness of talking in the open, she nodded. Of course she replied. She lifted herself yet again off of the floor, though she didn't know when she layed down in the first place, and waited for Naruk. She was still thinking of what Emmos had done to Naruk and what it almost led him to do. (AAAHHHH!!! I'm so sorry it took forever to post. I think my writing creativity is back, so I shouldn't take forever to post again TT^TT) |

Valamaruka nodded in agreement with Naruk when he said that the clan was a bit whiney, and furthing added that it couldn’t really be helped, that being couped inside for so long and being unable to stretch their wings was enough to make anyone a bit agitated. True enough I suppose, he said laughing with her. Her emerald body and emerald scales glistened as her smile broke through after his compliment on the amount of food that she and the other hunter had acquired for the clan, and after she replied that she would like to go inside, he pushed himself up and moved inside to let her in. It’s by far not the largest den in the mountain, but it has plenty of room for the two of us I think. he told her watching her walk by. Vala, I want to thank you, well thank you again. When you stopped me out by the lake, and stayed with me until I could fly again, it gave me a purpose. That purpose was to hopefully one day be able to return the favor ten-fold. Now that’s not saying that I’m hoping for something bad to happen so I can be all glorified in saving you. I just want to be able to be there for you whenever you need it, for anything. Whether it’s something emotional that happened, or heaven forbid you should get hurt you’d always have someone to come to and a wing to cry on if you should need it. he told her sheepishly blushing again. He knew that he had just said a lot, and was uncertain of how she felt, but he loved her. He knew that for an absolute fact, and if she ever needed anything, no matter the price he would do his best to provide it for her. He wanted to be there for her to protect her for anything that may harm her, and be the male that he apparently could never be for Emmos. Even if Vala didn’t return the same affection, he would still be forever indebted to her, and would make sure that nothing happened to her. He had a purpose now, and that purpose was to keep his favorite dragon in the clan, and his closest friend from enduring any sort of pain. He did hope, however, that she would eventually become more than just a friend, and that he would never have to leave her side. That way they could share their lives together and never have to worry about the other getting hurt because they would always be there for each other. He remained silent for a few more moments, his bace he knew was turning beat red even through his scales at the moment, as he could feel the heat of his blood within his cheeks. He finally began to gather courage in side of him and decided that he would try. Vala I… she started to tell her as the words got caught in his throat, the fear of being rejected once again pressuring him, but he also didn’t want to feel like he was pressuring her. That was the last thing that he wanted to do. He also knew that she was a very smart and intelligent dragoness, and she would be able to read it in his emotions and body language anyway. To not confirm what she was seeing and tru to hid it from her would be even more disrespectful and hurtful in the long run. Valamaruka, I… I love you. I know we only met a few months ago, but… you’ve shown me kindness that no one else has shown me for a very long time. And every time we’ve talked and been together, it just makes my feelings grow even more. I know it seems a bit sudden, but I could feel my own body language giving it away, and it would have been even more disrespectful and hurtful to try to hide it. I do, I love you very much, and even if you may not feel the same way, I will always be here for you, and I will always, makes sure that you stay safe whenever you’re within the clan. he told her. He could feel his stomach churning in the same fashion as if you had broken your wing in the air to the point where it was impossible to support you and you were plummeting to the ground. He could only lay there and hope that she felt the same was, however, he would understand if she didn’t. (sorry, this time it was my fault for taking forever to post, but having no internet for 5 months has a habit of doing things like that. Hopefully we can actually progress their relationship a bit more, and we can pretend that this was a little bit later in the year that we intended, since fall in a mountainous arra like that can still produce blizzards on occasion. That way the timeline isn’t so off from a… 5 month delay! Haha. Again, I’m so sorry that it took this long. I guarantee it won’t take that long again. |

Valamuraka continued to chat with Naruk while walking in the den Naruk occupied. He agreed when she stated that some of the clan members were whiney due to the fact that they had been cooped up for a period of time and hadn't been able to stretch their wings. She situated herself and continued to listen. Whether it’s something emotional that happened, or heaven forbid you should get hurt you’d always have someone to come to and a wing to cry on if you should need it Naruk told her, his cheeks turning red again. She didn’t say anything at first and Naruk didn’t say a word after for a few moments. It was silent till Vala heard Naruk speak up again. Vala I… he paused again but continued to speak. Valamaruka, I… I love you. Her breathing hitched slightly, but she didn't think it was noticable.I know we only met a few months ago, but… you’ve shown me kindness that no one else has shown me for a very long time. Silence again consumed them. Vala was processing at the words Naruk had just said and in truth, some feelings had stirred in her heart for Naruk, weather they be love or a strong bond of friendship that could possibly lead to more, she hadn't discovered yet. I'll be honest, I can say that I don't reject your feelings. My heart has feelings for you, Naruk. Weather they be the same you feel for me, I do not know she answered slowly, making sure not to say anything that Naruk would misunderstand. She cared for him, she knew that. Ever since that day at the lake, it seemed as if something tied her to Naruk, like an invisible string. |

Naruk there in wait for Valamaruka to take in everything that he had just said. HE knew that he likely had just dropped a bombshell on her, and that she could not have possibly been expecting something like that to come from him. That is of course unless she shared the same feelings for him and was just rejoicing inside her own mind about the fact, but he wasn't looking at her at the moment. he was too scared to look into her eyes to see what her reaction would be. HE got it soon enough thought with her saying that she also has some strong feelings for him, though was unsure if there were as strong as his feelings were for her at the moment. Then at the moment I can see us being very strong friends, and we can see what the future has in store for the two of us. Right now that Blizzard outside is still causing a bit of trouble it sounds like. Even in here I can hear the complaining from some of the other dragons in the mountain, he said to her. Part of him wished that there was a blizzard on the night that he had left to attempt to slay himself, because then it would have been nearly impossible for anyone to find him. At the same time though he was glad there wasn't because of his stupidity only a few months ago. It was the gem of a dragoness that was sitting next to him that was the reason he was still breathing. He would make sure that if the need should ever arise, that he would be the reason that she to would be able to keep breathing. |
